"Great company to hire. Mark was very knowledgeable about my questions on material and design. He went over and beyond to help with my irrigation and getting my yard water correctly. Look forward to hiring again for future projects"

"MATAO Brick Pavers Antonio did a fantastic job for me after searching many different companies to do a project I had for pavers in my patio. He was by far the best and the least expensive, but a very quality job. I would highly recommend him at any point in time in fact, Iâ m looking at another project that I may include him in on, so if you need, someone to come in and install pavers you need to use this company."

"The owner Steve was very polite & knew what he was doing from start to finish. He promised it would take x # of weeks to complete & in order to make his time line worked often by himself on the weekends. The end result was beautiful.
He has been my landscaper for 7 years & I have been able to trust his work for that long. He does not overcharge,& completes all work when he says it will be done. On top of that his work far surpasses the other landscapers I've had in the past. I would highly recommend him & Perfect Turf for all of your landscaping needs as well as any paver work.

"Couldn’t be happier with the driveway resurfacing completed by RD Paving. Very professional installation and tremendous clean up after. The guys couldn’t have been nicer and I would recommend to anybody. A real plus they were able to fit me in 2 months earlier than originally quoted, you don’t see that too often."

"AJ and Crew were punctual, very professional and polite. My trees looked fantastic once they finished. They explained every step and which limbs would possibly damage tree growth and tee survival. Their clean up was meticulously. My property was pristine when they finished. My property and trees went through Irma without damage, where my neighbors had trees fall and limbs broken, due to there trees being so dense. I will be recommending them to all my friends be using them in the near future.."

"David wanted to ensure I was getting my time/money's worth. When I finished my list he knew I had not exhausted my time and kept asking what else he could do. It was a great experience and I would recommend David's company (JGB Renovations) to anyone who needs reliable service."

"OK.....after a couple of issues came up initially....1) first appt. was "lost in space" (not written down by the him who scheduled me)....2) reschedule was to be first thing this morning and he had a dead battery and flat tire and called me to let me know he would of course, be late. Guess these things can happen to anyone. The work seemed very thorough. I haven't inspected everything too carefully yet (since I want it to dry completely before I walk around on the carpet), but I am pretty certain it will be a great improvement upon how it was!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Allandale, FL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
