"Wonderful. They handled everything with regard to getting the permit and approvals. Did a wonderful job. I was particularly impressed with how they designed fence to actually use the bark of a tree that was on the fence line as part of the fence to create a seamless view. Highly recommended."

"Great. Jesse had previously installed part of this very long fence last year. I called him on a Tuesday. He returned my call the next morning, met me after work that same day, quoted a very fair price and had two of his guys come the next day to begin the project. They finished the next day due to being low on some of the fencing materials. In low spots they built up the ground so that my cats cannot get out. And, It looks great."

"It looks great. It's not a 'normal' fence. I found something I wanted on Pinterest, and Skip and his crew did it exactly how I wanted. It took longer than he thought it would, partially because of the weather and partially because the wire mesh was hard to find. They had to drive around Columbus, Newark, and Zanesville to find something that would work. He even bought something that he decided was too flimsy, installed one piece and decided it wasn't good enough quality. AND, he passed on the $125 price difference to us. Good guy doing good work!"

"Our rear fence line was slowly leaning more and more each year so we called F&DD to get an estimate for repair. The sales rep was on time and we had an honest conversation about repair vs. replacement. Although our fence is older, it's still in ok condition and while a brand new fence would look great, there's still some life left in it so we opted to repair. It took about two weeks for the repair techs to make it out and the lead tech was knowledgeable and polite. He asked if it was ok to reuse any posts that were still in good condition. In trade, he would replace any pickets around the yard that were damaged. While that's certainly a win for their column as a picket is less material than a post, I thought it was an ok compromise. Work was accomplished by two techs in one day. They kept their footprint light and they walked me through the project upon completion. They replaced about half the posts and replaced about the same amount of pickets. I would certainly hire or recommend in the future."

Since writing our strong endorsement of Following Steps on May 7, we have relied on Angel Valdez and his competent associates to tackle additional projects to restore our property after the ravages of a severe winter. We've also hired the company to provide weekly mowing and trimming services, to our complete satisfaction.

After having an arborist remove two large river birches and grind the stumps, they provided advice on which dwarf specialty trees would do well and look good in these spaces. I consulted with Angel and he advised he could undertake the task of locating, selecting and purchasing the largest and healthiest specimens available. This took some searching on his part and he found and purchased them several weeks later. When he and his crew came to deliver and install them, he discovered that both stumps had only been ground a few inches down, despite the contract to grind two feet below the surface. This required Angel to bring his equipment the next day and do the work necessary to plant the new trees in the same location. The task was formidable, as river birches have a very large and expansive base and root structure. The news trees he selected were exceptional and he was able to plant them and mulch the entire area the following day.

As the weather improved, we determined that several mature boxwoods were not recovering from the winter and we again asked Angel to find similarly sized and shaped replacements when his schedule permitted. A few days later, he arrived to remove the dead shrubs and plant the excellent ones he had selected.

Following Steps has also replaced numerous plants and shrubs which our former "name" landscaper had installed last summer as part of a major rear yard renovation. Thanks to Angel's company, the rear garden areas are now looking like they were supposed to based on our ex-landscaper's rendering.

It is very gratifying to finally find a company that is extremely trustworthy, hard-working and reliable. While they don't show up in the fanciest rigs like some of the big guys we have used, Angel and his brothers get right to business and tackle any challenge thrown at them. They out-perform just about any firm in the landscaping business and, in our case, they are far superior to the many companies we have "experimented" with in the past, only to be disappointed while also being price-gouged.

"Excellent.  JC3 is a small company.  Jerry, the owner, gave us several alternatives to replace an existing fence and we settled on cedar dog-ear pickets.  Total job time was about 4 hours, 2 hours in the evening to remove and set new posts and 2 hours the next morning to install the stringers and pickets.  I was impressed with the professionalism, speed of the work and price paid.
You won't be disappointed...

"It was very important to repair the fence to its previous strength as we have dogs and were concerned about any of them getting out. Jeff was the lowest bid on the job and was the most professional from the first time we met him. He took care not to damage any existing flowers and shrubs that we planted at the side that was most heavily damaged. He did a great job and I couldn't ask more concerning the quality of his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a new fence or repair."

"Justin and his Dad were  very professional from start to finish.  They listened to my ideas and recommended possible solutions for my issue.  The worked quickly and were thorough and cleaned up the area completely before they left.  They even were willing to install a ceramic soap dish that I had ordered years ago and just never got around to putting up.

"He made a mistake on our estimate which made his estimate much lower then it would normally be, but he honored the original estimate anyway. It was very important that the fence went up in one day because we have four dogs, but weather prevented that. He went and got temporary fencing to keep the dogs in the yard while the fence installation was delayed. He went above and beyond and we really appreciated it."

FAQs for barbed wire fence installation projects in Amanda, OH

Barbed wire is a type of fencing made from steel wire with sharp edges or points spaced along the strands. It's designed to prevent unauthorized entry or contain livestock by acting as a physical deterrent. Barbed wire fences are often seen in agricultural settings or high-security areas because they're effective, durable, and require little maintenance.

You can expect to pay between $3 and $6 per linear foot for a barbed wire fence, including installation. The exact price depends on factors like material quality, number of strands, wire thickness, and labor costs. If you have a larger project, bulk purchasing and hiring a professional might offer cost savings.

The number of strands you need depends on the fence's purpose and the level of security you want. For a standard livestock fence, you might use three to five strands. For higher-security needs, you may require more strands to meet your needs. Consider your specific requirements and talk to your fence installation pro to determine the appropriate number.

Barbed wire fencing regulations vary by location. In many residential areas, the use of barbed wire is restricted or prohibited due to safety concerns. Before installing a barbed wire fence, work with your barbed wire fence installation pro to check local zoning laws and homeowner association rules to ensure compliance with regulations.

The lifespan of a barbed wire fence depends on the quality of materials and environmental conditions. Fences made with high-quality, galvanized wire and proper coatings can last between 20 and 30 years. Regular maintenance and inspections can extend the fence's longevity by addressing issues like rust or damaged strands promptly.
