"We had Danny install 4 electrical boxes to be used for our old ceiling fans, and install some conduit around wiring. Danny was extremely professional, and the quality of work was exceptional. Danny was communicative throughout the entire process, even taking time to explain how he wired each room. Danny was very punctual and was very careful about cleaning and making sure the rooms he worked in were left in the same (or better) condition that he entered them in. We will absolutely be calling Danny for future work in our home! 10/10 would recommend!"

"It went beautifully!  I called to get an estimate and the electrician was at my door in less than 30 minutes. I would recommend them to anyone.  Chris, the electrician, ate his lunch while I finished cleaning the pendant fixture to be hung so I could get it installed today.  Very professional and knowledgeable.  Will definitely use them again!

"Jon is extremely knowledgeable, prompt, thorough, and professional. He performed comprehensive diagnostics and provided us photos to explain what was happening with our air handler unit, which is located in the attic. We were confident that Jon correctly diagnosed the problem, and inherently trusted him and his expertise. Unlike some other contractors, Austin Star sells and installs multiple brands of equipment, rather than just push one brand. Austin Star's pricing is competitive. Ultimately, we were able to have our problem taken care of by the builder, but Jon is excellent and we will definitely call him again if and when we have problems."

"They arrived on time and performed the specified work in a high quality fashion. I received quotes for other services as well including moving a ceiling fan. I thought the price they were asking was very high, and I would have to hire another contractor to complete the work."

"Bob arrived on time & made courtesy phone calls. He surveyed the projects to make notes on the materials hew would need. When he got back form Home Depot, Bob started with the roof vent, then he re screened the windows, removed the satellites and cords. Bob sealed & painted the gap on the side came in to fix the fan. The fan still wobbles, but not as bad as before. Bod id a great job! He was professional the whole time and would check in and let me know the task he was going to do."

"Richard was extremely honest with the estimate & pricing for the installation of 6 pendent lights in my kitchen. He gave suggestions to enhance the project without pretense & no pressure to take it a step further. Richard went a step further to redo the wiring of the homebuilder's electrician to make the lights work better with a three-way redo. Richard was timely in arrival without giving a window of 2-6 hours, he said he would arrive a such a time, & he was there. He maintained a clean work area and cleaned up after he was completed. I will certainly contact Richard for any further electrical needs and recommend him. Thank you Richard."

FAQs for attic or whole house fan installation projects in Austin, TX

Installing an attic fan lowers attic temperatures and reduces moisture, protecting stored items and extending the life of roofing materials. It also prevents mold, mildew, and paint deterioration, enhancing energy efficiency and comfort in the home. This type of protection helps you avoid costly repairs in the future and maintains the integrity of your home.

Installing an attic fan may require multiple professionals. A roofing specialist or carpenter can create the vent and mount the fan securely, while a licensed electrician connects the system to the home's electrical supply. A dedicated attic fan installer may be able to tackle all of these areas themselves, so be sure to confirm what services they can provide. Hiring qualified professionals ensures the installation is safe and the attic fan operates reliably.

The lifespan of an attic fan depends on the type and how well it is maintained. Passive attic fans can last 40 to 50 years, while electric and solar models typically last 10 to 15 years. Regular cleaning and maintenance help ensure the fan operates reliably and safely. Ask your installation pro for their recommendations for ongoing maintenance and service to help your attic fan last for as long as possible.
