"They were very fast to respond to my call and were able to send someone within two hours. The replacement of the hot water heater went well. For the water pipes they use copper crimp fittings instead of soldering so it will be interesting to see how that holds up over the years. My only concern is how they ran the gas line. They use Gastite CSST which is fine, but the CSST is run so it goes downward then back up and then downward again before it enters black pipe that has a moisture trap. It seems to me that if there is any moisture it will end up in the CSST instead of the trap. In addition, there is a pretty good bend in the CSST right before it goes into the trap section. Also, Teflon tape was used on the all the joints instead of joint compound. I think I will get someone from a different company to come in and take a look at it."

The techs were friendly, very cognizant of my concerns and extremely careful to ensure my safety and the safety of my belongings. From the very first interaction I had with the company, I was impressed. They were very flexible in their scheduling, knowledgeable about not only the electrical work but also with the area, meaning they knew where available resources were if they needed them during the work day. During the initial inspection of my home, I was shown exactly what was being looked at and what potential issues were. I was made aware of what to expect when the technicians were to arrive. In all cases, the technicians arrived exactly 10 minutes prior to the time they were scheduled. The first day, they stayed in their vehicle until the time they were scheduled. "We are grateful to have found Bill & Quarry Hill  to do the extensive work on our boiler/hot water replacements. 

It was a rather large and complicated residential project - full replacement of four boilers and hot water heaters for the four condominium units in our building.  We selected the high-efficiency Lochinvar units that don't need chimney exhaust  - these are somewhat new in the market but he had experience with these units and was able to install them without any complications.  During the proposal process, he met with all of the owners and brought the manufacturer's sales rep/technical service person to explain the system and answer all of our questions.  We were very impressed that he would commit this amount of time to us before he got the project - none of the other bidders were as attentive and responsive to our questions as Quarry Hill.

Our hot water heater died in advance of our scheduled date for the work and we were very appreciative when Bill managed to rearrange his schedule to start our project sooner so we didn't have to live without hot water for very long.  The work was challenging - cramped basement spaces that were full of storage and messy removal of the existing units but he and his team managed without complaint and very neat about the work too.  It took great skill to thread all of the piping in the basement but they managed to pull it off while still maintaining good headroom too.  He frequently stayed very late into the evening to get the work done so that we would not have to be without hot water or heat at day's end.  The work involved the installation of new wall mounted vents which required demolition and work in some of the units - that work was also done with care and neatness.   The building inspector at the final inspection had some additional requirements which required a fair amount of additional work for Quarry Hill but they got that work done right away.  I expect that the challenging basement space and difficult building inspector required Bill to do additional work that he had not anticipated in his proposal but he honored his proposal price.  There were times when Bill was taken away from this project to attend to other projects so the projects took slightly longer than originally estimated, but he always communicated with us about the timing and we were okay with the delays because of the extra service he consistently provided.
