"The guys were on time, cheerful, thorough, and and got the job done. They were thoughtful about my cat, too. The 'sanitization' stuff they sprayed did smell for a few days, despite my airing out the house with the windows open, but it did eventually go away. And they must have gotten a lot of dust out because my children (who are usually very sneezy with the dust pumping through our house) have seemed much better since the ducts got cleaned. I used an Angie's List "deal" for the service--I was in a hurry to get it done (my kids had dropped some art supplies down a vent that were making clicking noised that were driving me nuts) so I didn't compare prices at all, I just looked for a company that seemed thorough and they they were. "Although it took some time to schedule our appointment, our plumber was on time and polite. An extensive review of our house's plumbing system was performed and a 3rd floor toilet was fixed. An evaluation of our 2nd floor bathtub was made and an initial guess as to the cause of a leak was made and verified. An attempt was made to fix the problem, but that initially failed. On a second visit, access to the bathtub overflow piping was blocked by a hidden fireplace. The plumber consulted me about possible actions and we decided on a conservative approach that did not result in removing walls (or the fireplace). A second attempt to seal the bathtub overflow return pipe was then made. We believe this did the trick, but we will no longer be overfilling our tub.
In the course of this "Big Deal" the plumber came to our house on three occasions. We were charged $59 for the "Big deal" which was for an inspection and 1 hr of work and then an additional charge of $150 to fix the 3rd floor toilet. There were no additional charges for the 2nd or 3rd visits.
