"Our experience with Kitchen and Bath World was excellent; we are completely satisfied. We had two full bathrooms completely re-done as well as new kitchen counter tops and laminate flooring installed. Emily LaRose, the designer, is the consummate professional designer. She has a firm grasp of design concepts and gave us functional and beautiful designs. She is a skillful communicator, equally strong at explaining choices and listening to and addressing our concerns or preferences. Emily kept the projects on track and made herself available for our questions. Our initial choice for laminate flooring for the kitchen was discontinued by the manufacturer. Emily immediately contacted us, and we met. She presented other recommended choices that would work with our counter top choice and existing cabinetry. We ended up with beautiful flooring and an on-schedule installation. Emily visited our home throughout the projects and always answered our phone calls and emails promptly. She was extremely helpful and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Further, all the other Kitchen and Bath World staff we met were very helpful, and we felt completely comfortable having them in our home. Greg, the lead installer, has an outstanding work ethic and outstanding construction / remodeling skills. Greg did meticulous work, and our home was always left in pristine condition at the end of the day. We will be recommending Kitchen and Bath World to our family and friends!"

"The owner of the business came out and took his time to see what my most cost affective options were in resolving my leaks. The whole process was actually easy and they cleaned up after like I had no clue they were there. He was very fair in his estimate."

"This company had to cope with the installation of two wrong size doors, and four windows that had minor unforeseen complications.  Mine is an old building (1850s), and a prior window replacement had made it necessary to cover some arches for what had long ago been curved glass.  The arches had been covered, but not removed, and no one knew they were there until installation began.  The windows that were ordered included a bow out that wasn't on the earlier windows and the arches were in the way.  The workers were able to cut out the part that blocked the new windows without compromising the piece that had been put over them as a cover years ago and the repair is invisible, just the way it should be.
The storm door to be installed was a a few inches too short and about an inch too narrow, and they spent several hours they hadn't planned around, adjusting the frame to accomodate the door.  The result is aesthetically pleasing and the door is fully functional.
The garage door to be installed was too big and there was no way it could be made to fit.  Company owner Dave, who was doing the work with two others, drove it and me back to Lowes to return it and went with me to millwork to place the order for a custom door using his specs.  In the interim, they used salvageable parts of the old rotted frame to build a temporary frame on which to rehang the old door.
All of these extra tasks caused them to have to reschedule a job they had planned for that afternoon.  Because the errors were neither their doing nor mine, they worked into the evening without complaining to get the jobs done as best they could and when the new door came in, they finished it  beautifully and professionally.
They get the straight As that NML didn't.

"I'd had a evaluation and estimate from Exterior Solutions and after then not having received a call back or return email (the inspector had also pulled a loose single from my roof leaving it exposed) I went back to Angie's List. T&T came up, noting it had a good rating, I called. Dave and a colleague arrived, evaluated the roof and offered to repair it free of charge. Still blown away by this. A member of their crew arrived yesterday and did this; apparently they've ended up correcting other work done by Exterior Solutions and they only wanted the good will rating for the work. Incredibly nice and very professional."

FAQs for flooring install, repair, or refinish projects in Ballston Lake, NY

Removing tile flooring is a messy job. Expect flying chip fragments, mortar dust, and plenty of debris. Protect the space with plastic sheeting and drop cloths, and gear up with goggles and a respirator before you start prying. Pros keep the mess in check by attaching industrial vacuums to their tools, a setup that captures dust at the source and leaves the work zone far cleaner than a DIY approach.

Removing the old tile first is almost always the smarter play. If you tile over worn or uneven flooring, the new surface can crack, pop, or sit higher than the surrounding rooms. Fixing that later costs far more, especially if you need to re-level the floor. By demoing the tile now, you get a flat, solid subfloor and avoid surprise repairs down the road.
