"I had a gas furnace, A/C and thermostat installed. I went through a long process deciding who to hire. After checking credentials, reviews, testimonials and interviewing four contractors, I chose Brandon Heating and Air Conditioning. Adam came out and explained everything from load calculations to the install process. The technicians were professional, courteous and polite. They wore shoe covers, put down tarp and worked diligently until the job was complete. They did a thorough clean-up. I highly recommend Brandon Heating and Air."

"They were quick, through, did a great job and cleaned up well. They even we above and beyond to make sure to correct prior mistakes from the last person to make sure it was set up the proper way. They even made sure that they got me scheduled quick and that I was going to be ok with alternative heat sources."

"Mark Franks had a 4:00 appointment with us, and he called ahead of time to say he might be running slightly late and asked if that would be OK.  It was OK with us.  On arrival, Mr. Franks was friendly and attentive, told us a little about himself and his business, and conducted himself professionally.  He was a good listener and answered all my questions, and appeared very knowledgeable.  I explained I knew very little about the air system and he took the time to tell me the basics and even pointed to areas as he was describing the processes.  He brought appropriate tools and meters and completed the 20-point inspection.  When he checked our thermostat, he said it was off by a few degrees, which is what I had thought, and he explained how to set the dials to compensate.  I asked whether a new thermostat could be used with our old system. He offered information on digital alternatives that have a very high level of accuracy.  He also pointed out the temperature difference between supply and return.  Outside he checked the compressor and cleaned it up.  In conclusion, he said our system was 27 years old and was doing all it could for its age, and he did not recommend any major repairs at this time.  Mostly, I appreciated his honesty.  If and when the time comes to address any serious problems, or to ask about upgrades, I would definitely call Mark Franks for his service and/or recommendations. I'd also like to mention he offered to carry the dehumidifier I had just bought downstairs for me!

Blake was the sales person and was great to work with.  He was all about quality and workmanship after the furnaces were installed and had them come back out to re seal some duct work, but all was good.

Fred was involved in both portions of the project. He was a pleasure to have at the house (My dog loves him as well).  The most recent portion of the project was the air conditioner installation.  Fred, Dave, Joe and Ian were the technicians involved in this all day project.  They were punctual and all very friendly and personable.  There were a couple things that held them up and they stayed positive and worked longer than most companies would have in the same situation.

We had a tree fall on our power lines the afternoon of the installation and they continued to proceed without power (using flashlights when needed) until the power was restored.

I think that most would have left at this point but not these guys... Really a class act!!

They had a long day and still stayed positive and remained pleasant and were all a pleasure to deal with!

I would recommend this crew without reservation for any of your future HVAC needs!

"The salesman was very knowledgeable about the product. I was super impressed with the installers. They were punctual, knew their product, kept everything clean, and were professional. I did experience sticker shock, though. I was surprised that I didn't receive a follow up call from the company after installation. I paid for an extension on my breaker, which I didn't need and wasn't done. I left a message with my salesman and did not receive a call back. I spent a small fortune, and expected better customer service. If I were grading on installation alone, I'd give them an A+. But the lack of a follow up was disappointing."

"I was looking for quotes for a new furnace since mine was over 20 years old and failed, so decided to have it replaced along with the matched central air conditioner unit. I got estimates from several heating and cooling companies but ultimately gave the job to RTT Heating and Cooling, LLC . Ryan came out quickly, looked at my units and answered all my questions to give me the best options for both cost and reliability for a new complete system. Ryan was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. He didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need like others. His office contacted me and we scheduled a date to replace the units. Ryan sent out Tommy and Tyler , these guys removed the old Furnace and Air unit and Professionally installed the new ones, They were quick, professional, courteous and answered all questions. I couldn’t of asked for a better team of people including the office personal Nicolina, who was all so very professional and prompt. All I can say If you’re looking for a GREAT heating and cooling company to work on or replace your furnace and/or air, then Give Ryan a call! I highly recommend him, OH! and his pricing was fantastic and offered great quality equipment ! Thank You all at, RTT Heating and Cooling ! John"

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Barberton, OH

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
