"The young man from Greenwell Dustin texted me earlier than I expected which was great and arrived when he said he would. He diagnosed the issue told me what part was needed and told me where I could get it to save some money. Got the part and he installed it and verified everything was working correctly with no leaks of water or natural gas. Dustin will be who I request if I need any other services from Greenwell Plumbing."

"My technician, Timothy N., was timely and thorough in replacing my water heater and sump pump. I live in an old house with a lot of outdated plumbing. He inspected and replaced some old valves and copper piping that was developing a leak. He took his time to make sure that everything was completed properly. He even made sure that the temperature setting was the same as it had been before. (I have young children who like to play with the faucets, and I didn't want the temperature too hot.) I really like the look of my new water heater and everything is working great."

"Service was great, price was insane. It cost $290 to replace a shut off valve to a faucet with easy access in an unfinished basement. Wow! I feel price gouged. The work was removing the old valve putting on bite fittings, adding a new valve with PEX. I thought there would be some soldering with copper pipe involved. Did I mention that cost $290 for uncomplicated work that took less than an hour. The service man was very friendly and explained what he could and could not do. The main issue is the exterior faucet in my older home had a leak in the outside pipe. It would have been another $400 to run a new line and exterior faucet in a new location."

"On all of the replacements or repairs there was a time period of 1 -3 weeks for the repairman. They were all professional . You have to read the contract , I missed the electric part and had to pay for it myself so read your warranty ."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Bardstown, KY

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
