"Amazing. Crew arrived on time, "isolated" the area of work with floor and wall coverings, worked steadily with no intrusion to me or my time, finished, cleaned up and asked for my opinion/approval. Excellent work, very professional and courteous. This project required some knowledge/expertise as it was being done on a 90 year old home and involved lathe and plaster and sheetrock both. Once complete, the only evidence they had been there was the ceiling patch was done! Would recommend them to any and all needing drywall work."

"It went excellent?? Ross called a head of time when they were going to be here. They cleaned up every night prior to leaving, let us know if any boards needed to be replaced, kept us in the know at every step of the process. They showed up on time and we received an excellent job and value add they power washed our drive way. The job was done on time and I would recommend Ace of Paints to any one, Ross and crew were excellent to work with!! The bid was spot on."

"I bought a deal through AL for a new roof, based on their reviews. These folks were terribly unprofessional, always late (sometimes days), didn't call when they said they would, and did shoddy work. They asked if I wanted a specific drip edge on my roof, which I said yes to, then they failed to install it. It was like pulling teeth to get them back to do it, and within a few weeks, half of it had blown off. The folks who are fixing it said it was affixed with one nail and silicone. In addition, they broke, chipped and cracked so much of my siding around the roof, I'm having to get the whole area replaced. I'm no roof expert, but when I climbed up to deal with a gutter issue, it became clear to me that the decking they had installed the roof over was water damaged or rotted at the edges. They never advised me of this or gave me the option to replace it. It has taken me two years to get a contractor scheduled to fix all of the problems they left me with, and it's going to cost thousands to fix. I wish I'd just paid someone time/materials to do it right from the get-go. Do yourself a favor and skip these folks, even if it means paying a little more. You'll save in the end. I'm not looking forward to learning what else fails over the coming years."

Hands on General contractor, small and personable, creative in design, does not require money upfront. Dedicated and a long relationship with plumbers, electricians, Heat and air and concrete subs.
"Great. Dave improved on every idea or concept that I had and provided options I didn't know existed. I still love my kitchen every day. The price was a bit more than I had anticipated, but the work he did was much better than i had anticipated also. He has an eye for detail and a goal for perfectionism. I would recommend him to any and all for any project. He has a great pool of subcontractors to use too."

A handyperson near you can take on the task of wallpaper removal. As a bonus, they can also take care of any needed wall repairs afterward and other odd jobs around the house. If you have high ceilings, ask whether they own ladders or scaffolding to do the job or will need to rent equipment.
You can determine your wall type through tactile and visual tests. Start by checking the surface by inserting a thumbtack, feeling the texture, tapping to listen for a hollow sound, and examining cut edges under outlet covers. Drywall feels soft with a hollow sound, while plaster is hard and solid. These checks are especially useful in older homes where plaster is more common.
In many cases, you can paint over wallpaper, although it’s a better idea to remove it altogether. Try steaming the paper first to see if it easily comes off. Painting over it may be a viable option if it’s stuck on and will only come off in pieces. Wash the walls first and prime them with an oil- or shellac-based primer for the best results.
Wallpaper installation costs between $800 and $4,000. The total price depends on the price per roll, room size, wallpaper material, and required repairs. More complex projects involving luxurious wallpaper brands like De Gournay, Calico, and Pierre Frey result in higher installation rates due to the extra work required.
After removing wallpaper, you can dispose of small amounts in your household trash. However, suppose you are removing wallpaper from your entire home. In that case, you’ll need to contact a waste removal service, rent a dumpster, or arrange a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste service. Wallpaper cannot be recycled, so it is important to keep it separate from the recycling stream to comply with local waste guidelines.
