"The workers were really nice and prompt, they even loaned us a pump.  It was a very difficult job because of the weather and it was hard for them to get their equipment in the neighborhood., but they were very  pleasant.  They worked hard and stuck to their price."

"The person showed up for the second time to fix values for the first time they could not turn off the water. On the second visit, the tech complained that they could not work with the box around the meter. When given the quote I was given an estimate of $350. Over twice the estimate of $120 - $150 for the job as stated two weeks prior. When questioned about the price vs the quote for the job given prior I was told that it was for each of the values. The quote was approved since I was backed up against the wall. The homeowner was forced to dismantle the enclosure around the installation location. Then the tech complained about how the workspace was too tight. Finally, they installed two one inch values to replace the two that were out of date. They could have saved money by installing a 3/4 inch valve on the outlet side since it was connecting to a 3/4 inch pipe. Instead, they left the upsize and downsize sections and charged the whole $175 / valve for the one-inch values. Both values installed were dirty and looked like they had been used or not stored cleanly. The customer contacted the business to try to resolve concerns but never heard back. The owner does not reliably call back when the customer was told to expect a call back from him the first time somebody was out. The first time they could not turn off the water. The second time they could barely turn it back on. It took the city water department person about 30 seconds to turn it off and on."

"I would like to recommend, Ken Podolak, who redid the plumbing in our bathroom.  He listened to your ideas, and also gave us tips as well.  He was very honest, hard-working, and focused on the job.  We couldn't be happier with the finished project."

"My brother had already removed part of the drywall in the bathroom to investigate why water was waterfalling into my basement. He discovered the rusted out pipe (4 ft.) which he did not want to mess with as there was not much room btw the kitchen sink drain pipe and the main cast iron sewer pipe to connect new PVC pipe. Also all the water lines to the kitchen, bathroom and toliet were right there and they were all going thru 2x6 in. studs. They gave me an estimate of $475 and said they could come and fix it in 2 days and it would take 2-3 hrs. They called me two days later and were there in 20 mins. He did nick a water line while cutting the rusted pipe but I shut of the main water supply within seconds so no harm done. He not only fixed and replaced old galvanized sewer pipe but reconfigured the line from the kitchen so it did not drain so close the bathroom drain to prevent future backups and of course the nicked water line. Very polite and professional and cleaned up after he was done including an old galvanized pipe he found laying inside the wall."

"I had a leaking upstairs toilet shut-off valve that was covered under a home warranty policy. The first company they assigned to the job couldn't come out for 2 days so I told them that wasn't acceptable. They sent out the Pipe Doctor the same day. The plumber was prompt, worked quickly and did a nice job. He was very cordial and professional in his work. <br />"

"We wanted central air conditioning for our 2 story house, with no ductwork in it. We were told by a couple other Hvac installers it would be too hard to install in our house, or would take too long and they did not want the job. We called Gearhart’s. Their sales manager Andy Luidhardt, came out in a couple days, looked our house over and said ducts could be run in our attic and in closets to cool our whole house. He was very knowledgeable and great to work with. He got back to us promptly with an estimate. We hired them for the job and they were able to start the work about 6 weeks later. The crew was friendly, polite, professional, punctual, and tidy. They cleaned up, vacuumed at the end of every day, and were careful to not track in dirt. They were also, the most quiet of crews we have ever had doing work in our home. They were careful to place the duct pipes in the least obtrusive places in the closets. We were very pleased with the installers. Our air conditioning is quiet, works well and we are happy! During the installation we had an emergent plumbing problem, nothing to do with the air conditioning. We called them and they had someone out to our house within a 1/2 hour to fix our problem. They are a great company to work with!"

"I had a very complicated problem with a wood burning fireplace with gas starter and previous companies said I needed to run a new gas line and needed a new liner for over $3000. The owner John of the company came out for free, located where my gas line originated with the shut off valve (that 2 other companies could not find), called an inspector and did research, and informed me my existing gas line that goes under the slab will work but we should do a pressure test. He performed this analysis for free.   I am hiring him to do a pressure test for $89 and if we go forward with converting our fireplace to gas logs, I will use this company.  John is very knowledgeable and professional. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Bowling Green, OH

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
