"When the toilet started leaking, and I had house guests, I had to do something.  I called Pinkston and left a message on the answering system.  He called me back within a  few minutes and asked me what issues I was having. I told him about the above things and I was really concerned about the toilet (thinking that it was a wax seal breakdown).  He said that he would be available around noon to 12:30.  He arrived at my home at about 12:30 and I showed him the problems with the systems.  He took note of all the issues and went to work.
We removed a light fixture so that he could see the bottom of the bath and shower on the second floor to determine where the leaks were coming from.  At first he did not see the pin-hole leak on the bath tub cold water supply, but after watching it for awhile, the hair-sized stream became visible.  He turned off the water and drained all the lines in the house so that he could cut out the problem copper line.
He replaced the copper line with Pex and removed the leaky tee and replaced it with Pex as well.  He looked at the toilet and thought that the leak was not from the seal, but somewhere else.  I didn't watch what he did then, but he found the leak was coming from the tank seal to the body of the toilet.  This was easily fixed by tightening up the connection screws.
He then went into checking out the shower drainage issue.  The shower was installed with ABS drain line.  He tried to loosen the drainage line screw on the bottom of the shower, but it was too tight (30 years of inactivity).  He then showed me my options.  Because the ABS can be brittle with age and twisting, he was concerned about trying to twist it off, and breaking the drain line.  The best way to repair the drain is to cut out the old, and replace with new material so that the seals can be re-seated at the shower.  The third way he suggested to repair this particular leak was to spray it with a rubber based sealant from below and put a silicon sealant in the drain from above.  I felt like this solution was best for this particular project, so I had him seal the drain line.  I still have to wait 24 hours before I run water into the line, but the solution seems that it should work.  Doug said that he had done this type of repair before with positive results, so I am hoping that this too, will be a positive result.
His price for these services included a 15% Angie's List discount, and seemed a little high, but, he came when I needed him to come, he did the work in a very professional and timely manner, and I felt very comfortable with him.  I will absolutely use him again hopefully not in an emergency situation.

"I called them after using another company and the issue came back again, and in this heat, I needed my fridge working. When they came to my house, they were kind and extremely professional. They got straight to work and were so quick and thorough. Here I am four weeks later and my fridge runs like it’s brand new! I will be recommending Rocket Appliance to everyone I come in contact with!"

"Ben Moulka is the BEST! He was pleasant and understanding throughout all my phone calls. he called to let us know he would be a few minutes later than his scheduled appointment, and he agreed to our request he wear a mask and booties to enter our home. He assessed our 30-year-old refrigerator carefully and thoroughly, taking his time. He offered a repair for the thermostat, but also honestly informed us the compressor could do soon and we might want to replace the appliance. If we decided to do the latter. he gave us good guidance on what store in which to get it, what brands of rerfigerators are good and not so good in his experience of repair history, are good and how to measure for the new appliance. In the end, we decided to replace our refrigerator - followed his supportive guidance, His visit was well worth the charge. Ben was also honest with us that it would take too much to repair our garbage disposal and we would be much better off buying a new one. We are extremely grateful for Home Advisor and Angi's' QuICK internet rnetreferral, even on a weekend, when we were desperate for immediate help. And we cannot say enough good things about Ben Mlouka - he is a wonderful person and an expert and honest repairman. Any time we need an appliance of any kind repaired in the future, we KNOW we will call Ben Mlouka! Annie and Mack Rowe. Madison, Va."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Bristol, VA

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
