"I had a broken sewer pipe underneath my cement floor that was coming up through cracks in the cement. I knew it was a huge job. When the main street pipe started draining into my basement Dave called the city after hours and had them clear the clog, saved me from a disaster. They came on Tuesday morning and finished by end of day Thursday. They dug a trench through the basement then outside to the sidewalk to replace the piping. Incredible job. It was expensive but I knew that going in, just unfortunate."

"I moved into my 30+ year old townhouse and wanted to replace the furnace before it quit on me. I called a few places and chose Boston Standard because they were the most responsive, explained my options in the clearest manner, and offered to take care of all rebates and credits for me. I was not disappointed! They team was incredibly polite, they showed up when they said they would, and the pricing was exactly as quoted. The guys even wore shoe covers in my house - an extra step I have never seen another contractor of any sort do. Given the experience I also used them for a water heater replacement and dishwasher install, and they service the furnace for me. "The plumber surmised that the clog was at the T junction with the vertical pipe in the wall and was unsuccessful at getting his snake to go downward after entering from the bottom of the trap. He failed also with an air hose. As he left, he offered to replace the T junction with a Y junction for $285. I subsequently called out another Angie's List plumber, so attacked the problem successfully by removing the trap and snaking downward about 15 ft to the clog. He replace the trap with one that is removal, allowing a snake easier access. This cost $300. I'm still unsure whether replacing the T junction with a Y junction would have solved the problem."

"Sorry, looks like this review got stuck in draft mode for quite a while. But the good thing about that is everyone gets to read a review with an update 1.5 years later on the quality of the work completed! In late 2020 I had recently moved into my new home and the gas water heater wasn't working properly. It was leaky and at least needed the pressure relief valve replaced, but the tank was well past it's expected lifetime. The techs were very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The valve replacement wasn't going to work because repairing the tank could damage it further, so the tank was replaced instead. The price was very reasonable and installation was done really well. They did a great job with cleanup too! One and a half years later and the tank has had zero issues! I would definitely recommend them for heavy jobs like this or more simple ones around the house. Thank you very much!"
