"I originally spoke with Nathan Rahn, who had me send pictures of the black walnut table. He quoted me a price of approximately $800.00. I then discussed the rosewood table, which had problems due to differences in humidity between Hong Kong and SoCal, and the lacquer chest with water damage. Nathan came with his father, who is an expert. Mr. Rahn said he would have to use a new piece of rosewood for the top and also repair the joints. Based on the discussion of how he would repair my furniture, I also asked about a mirror I had bought online whose frame was black, and I wanted brown. Mr. Rahn suggested matching a shade of brown in the artwork surrounding the mirror. The frame was no detachable. The job took 2 or so weeks longer than originally quoted, but quality work, with drying time, can’t be rushed. When the furniture was delivered, I was thrilled. The black walnut table is a family heirloom that had been purchased for my grandmother upon the birth of my mother. It had had a hard life – many moves to various states. I had never used the rosewood table (covered it with a table cloth, not proudly displayed), but when it was returned to me in like-new condition, it was given a prominent place in my home. The work on the other 2 pieces was similarly excellent. In fact, I recommended Rahn’s to a friend who had several antique pieces in need of restoration. She, too, was impressed with Mr. Rahn’s knowledge and loves the work that was done."

"When Rene arrived he started to place the furniture in my house. It looked strange and I realized that if was the wrong fabric. Rene tried to say it was my fault. He wanted to charge the full price. I said and proved it was his mistake. I still ended paying for half of the correct fabric. What was I to do? He had my furniture. I should have paid nothing for his mistake which I proved be showing him the contract. The workamanship was fine. I just shouldn't have paid an extra dime."

They explained that once an estimate was provided, upon accepting the estimate they would deduct that charge from my total cost. The gentleman they sent out to assess my furniture was professional and patiently answered my questions. The cost of repairing my 6 pieces of mid-century furniture was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work that they did. I couldn't be happier with the repairs.
