"Tess was extremely responsive! He quickly diagnosed my pinhole leaks and repaired them. He had to use a little ingenuity in order to make the repairs, as my pipes lay against a wood ceiling strut. He also located another plumbing issue that I may need to keep my eye on. I would definitely hire him again!"

"Had a 15 year old gas tankless water heater that wasn't firing up. Other guy was telling me it needed to be replaced and was looking at 4,000 dollar bill. Called A & C and Chris found it was a flue issue and fixed the leak. Haven't had a problem since. Very professional and trustworthy. Highly recommend these guys"

"Perfect! Prime Plumbing answered on my first call and scheduled plumber to come out and inspect job and offer quote. I accepted immediately and the scheduled the job for exactly when I asked. The plumber, Donald, who came out to inspect and quote the job also did the job. He installed a new natural gas line and manifold, set up the pressure test for the county inspector, hooked the line up to BGE's meter after they ran the outside line, and then connected our new gas dryer and vent to the outside. He also supplied and installed a new sanitary sink and water supply and waste lines in our basement. His work was perfect! The price was very fair and competitive. Their office staff is friendly, helpful and answers the phone immediately. We will use Prime Plumbing for all of our future needs and they have our highest recommendation."

"<p>I've owned 3 old homes over the last 28 years.  This was my best experience - ever - with any contractor.</p> <p>When you hire All Steamed Up to work on your heating system, you get partners Frank and Gordon - they have no other employees.  These guys have a wealth of knowledge gained from decades of hands-on experience at troubleshooting, repairing and replacing heating systems, which is more relevant to me (as a homeowner) than mixing in time spent running a large business.</p> <p>Both Frank and Gordon are thorough, thoughtful, honest, conscientious, resourceful, funny, courteous, knowledgeable and humble - and they're perfectionists about their customers' systems.  I could add to that list, but they're simply great people and just the kind of folks you want to work on your home.</p> <p>Also, they?re not out to pump up the price of a contract by installing components you don't really need.  They're interested in getting your heating system working properly at minimal cost.  I got estimates from 5 companies.  4 of them proposed brand new boilers, but not Frank.  He took one look at my 9-year-old Columbia boiler and told me I didn't need to replace it because it was still a current model - that he could simply swap out the oil burner with a new gas burner.</p> <p>Frank's honesty and knowledge saved me $2,600 to $4,300 compared to the other estimates.  Plus, the price included a new interior 25? gas supply pipe that the other estimates didn?t.   And Gordon's valve upgrades are top-notch, maximizing system flexibility and minimizing future service costs.</p> <p>Frank and Gordon gave me value, quality and the peace of mind that comes from knowing my heating system is in the best hands out there.</p> <br />"

"I contacted Stang Plumbing to give me an estimate on replacing the copper water supply piping (hot and cold) in my house with PEX A. Stang gave me a reasonable estimate right from the start. The two other estimates I requested further confirmed that Stang’s estimate was very reasonable and after they promptly responded to several questions I had concerning their proposal, I chose them to do the work. The workers showed up promptly on the first day to start the work and every day thereafter. The lead plumber, Rob, did a great job of communicating the progress at the end of the day and what he intended to accomplish the next day. Each day Rob made sure that water service was restored through out the house and that there were no leaks from the work that had been performed. The piping replacement was completed on the schedule originally proposed. Rob, and his helper Mark, were very professional and courteous and a pleasure to deal with. I will happily chose Stang Plumbing for any future work and highly recommend them for any plumbing services you may need."

"Can't say enough good things about Fitz Mechanical and Chris. I smelled gas near my dryer, and BGE came out and confirmed a leaky line. They shut off the gas, so I called Fitz. The woman on the phone was super friendly and sent Chris to my house right away. He happened to be nearby finishing a job. He replaced the bad flex line and the old shut-off valve, which BGE recommended. He also secured the dryer vent pipe, which kept randomly falling off despite my efforts to secure it over the years. I've hired Fitz in the past, many years ago, and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again."

"Erickson plumbing took our "partially" roughed in bathroom space in our basement and completed the plumbing for the new bathroom. They also laid a new shower pan and drain for the new shower. They did a fantastic job -- working quickly and completed the job thoroughly. When the previously roughed in pipes (not by Erickson) started to leak when we first turned the water on to the bathroom, Ken came out right away and fixed the problem for no charge (it was not even his piping that was leaking). He also came back after we had installed the toilet and vanity/sink and checked our plumbing connections for no extra charge. Also, when he came to run the shower pipes and discovered that the existing bathroom framing was not square, he called a contractor friend who was able to immediately send someone at a reasonable price to fix the framing so that he could continue working as planned. He is now our go-to plumber. <br />"

"Obviously I had concern over possible expense of new heat pump system, but Phil visited us Monday morning, opened and flushed out the system Freon gas, replaced a valve and low and behold, system works great. This is one of 3 heat pumps we have on service contract with HGH and no matter what weather conditions persist, HGH will pull out stops to restore service promptly. We highly recommend HGH for AC support. In addition Phil recently recharged our Sub Zero refrigerator when another company only wanted to sell us a new $9,000 refrigerator. HGH has a polite, talented tech team as well as professional office staff. Great company to deal with. My son had HGH install a complete thermo based heat pump system at their home several years ago and they are very satisfied with cost efficiency and HGH maintenance of system. In fact my son recommendation is why we selected HGH for our service."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Butler, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
