"Everything went as it was supposed to go. Very pleased with the guys who came to take out the old water heater and install the new one. They were both very professional, friendly, knowledgeable about their job, etc. Although it was a very large expense, I'd like to think that the price is in line with what other area plumbers charge. It is rare to need the services of a plumber, but any time that we do, we have always called Mr. Dan's Plumbing, and they have always done an exceptional job and rarely ever make us wait long before sending someone out."

"In the 9 degree weather of this date, the hot water line in the overhead over the master bath burst, flooding the bathroom and parts of the bedroom. We did not discover the extent of damage until the pipes thawed, about 5:00 PM. I called Mr. Dulaney and asked for help. He had just gotten home after a very busy day. He sent his partner over at 7:30 PM same day. This man climbed into the overhead, found the burst pipe, and replaced it. He also removed the soaked insulation, replaced it with dry insulation, and wrapped the water lines to help prevent this happening again. He was fast, professional and efficient. I would recommend this company again to anyone.
"

"Their website says they open at 8 am. I called at 7:30 am (Yeah, I'm that guy) and someone answered the phone. I told them that I had a water leak that I couldn't locate. I told them I checked under the house and shut off all toilets and sinks. My water meter flow indicator showed water was still flowing. I told them I believed I might have a leaking water main.
They said they would come out the same day I called. They showed up about an hour later and went through the house checking for any items that may leak.
Myself I work in the field service business making repairs. One thing I've learned is to never take the customers word on what they said they checked. Customers miss things.
True to good troubleshooting procedure, they went through and checked everything out for themselves; but not before they covered their boots with slip covers.
The next step was for them to check under the house. Before they went under the house they told me that to check a crawl space they would have to charge a service fee for going under the house. They asked if I was okay with the fee. I told them to do what they needed to do find the leak.
They crawled under the house and didn't find any leaking pipes. Thats when they decided to add a shut off valve under the house. One to help isolate the problem and two because everyone needs a shutoff valve under the house for maintenance purposes. They told me there wouldn't be an added charge for the shutoff valve install as the craw space fee would cover it.
They had a shutoff valve installed in like 5 minutes.
One of the guys told me he noticed the wall to the front of the house was really wet. He said he suspected that the water leak was right outside the front of the house. He also told me that the water line was running through the HVAC ductwork. (Which was true) He told me how that is very bad and the metal on metal contact is causing the pipe to wear out. One day the pipe would burst.
We went to the front of the house to check.
I had already dug up half my yard tracing down the water line and looking for a leak. They gave me three options. One They could dig up the area they suspected was where the water was leaking from and fix just the leak. Two they could finish digging up the yard and would only charge me half of the normal digging fee because I had dug up the yard half way, then replace the whole water main going into the house. Three, if I wanted to save more money they would let me dig the rest of the yard up and not charge me for digging at all. I had done all the digging I wanted to do and I know that with 30+ year old water lines, it's best just to replace them.
They gave me two quotes. $400 and something to dig up the spot and repair the line. $1150.00 and they would finishing digging up the yard and run new Pec line that would be rerouted around the HVAC ductwork instead of through it.
I went with the full water main replacement.
They had to leave to pick up their excavator to finish digging up the yard and take care of some other service calls. They came back a few hours later and got right to work.
I told them I was sorry if I was bothering them just hanging out watching everything they did. I explained that I find this kind of stuff fascinating. They shrugged it off and explained I wasn't bothering them. They told me everything they were doing as they were doing it. As a natural do-it-yourselfer, I loved learning everything they were doing. I liked that they let me hang around and didn't seem to be the least bit bothered with me watching or asking a bunch of questions.
They dug out a trench where the water line was. They found the where the pipe had been leaking. They stopped and asked if I wanted them to continue replacing the water line or just repair the broken pipe. I told them to continue replacing the water line.
They pulled out an old faucet that was attached to the old main line. They came over and said the faucet looked old and worn out. They said they were going to go ahead and replace it. No extra cost for that.
They had the new water line run through pretty quick. One of the guys even called me over to show me how the crimper works on the Pec water line.
They put all the dirt back into the hole, even the dirt I had dug up. They went over afterwards and put hay down to cover up the muddy area.
Great guys to spend the day hanging out with. It cost me a lot of money, but it could have been a lot worse. They made it seem like money well spent. Very professional and friendly. I hope I won't need their services anytime soon. But if I do, I wouldn't have a problem calling them up again.
"

"Customer Service was A-1! Jason was on time, use shoe covers prior to entering my home, very respectful and and answered all my questions about my gas fireplace logs. He performed a furnace tuneup as well and gave me a review/status of it. He was through, but in no way pushy and I really appreciate that."
