"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. "Working with Artistic Fence was a great experience.  We needed a fence that could contain a dog that can climb chain link, but didn't want a privacy fence to cut us off from our neighbors.  Amy from Artistic Fence came and looked over our property, talked about our options for our fence, and wrote out a bid right there.  She answered all my questions, and was very helpful and professional.  Their bid came in on the low end of the quotes we got.  Their building timeline was reasonable, even though it was the busy season for new fences, and the folks that came to build the fence where prompt, and impressively efficient.  The fence is exactly what we hoped for, and is beautifully done.  We couldn't be happier with it.

Update: A few months after the fence was installed, a few of the wooden caps that cover the fence posts began to split, assumedly because of water.  I called them, they sent someone out, and replaced the broken parts free of charge under the warranty."

"After getting a bid from Cady this summer, I hired them to do some work on my house (clean gutters, install gutter covers I'd purchased and fix a piece of siding). They agreed to do the work on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. They didn't show, and they didn't return my calls over the next couple of days. I felt they wasted my time. I gave them an F rating here and moved on to look for other handyman companies. Except that finding another company turned out to be easier said than done (the ones I contacted didn't serve my area or didn't want to do work on a 2-story house or were booked for months). A week later, my contact at Cady called to apologize. He said he'd gone out of town and the people back at the office dropped the ball. He offered to do the work for a reduced fee. I hadn't hired another company and was starting to wonder if I'd find one before winter, so I agreed to hire them. Two workers showed up as promised on September 21. They did a great job and were knowledgeable and personable. My husband and I were very happy with the work, and we would hire them again.

"I was expecting good work, given the previous reviews, but this blew me away!  Hal has an attention to detail that is truly not seen in this day and age.  He rounded the edges of every board used in the fence.  The spacing between boards were all customized so that every section looked perfect. He created a deck that captured the style of the house, and also created a seamless transition between the decks on either side.  The arbors are lovely.  He talked me out of a few things and came up with better solutions that I love. He also listened to my ideas and went with them when they made sense.
The guy is a craftsman!  Little things matter:  perfect beveled corners on the deck.  A birdhouse needed to be re-located as part of the project.  Hal noticed that the birds were still nesting in it, so worked around it and came back to relocate it when it was safe.  Then, without my asking, he fixed the birdhouse so that it would be easier for me to clean it.
I've had many, many glowing comments from friends, neighbors, and family.  People I know who do carpentry for a living were also very impressed by his work.
Things you should know:  This is not a big operation.  It's Hal plus a helper or two.  You need to be flexible on starting dates, and it may take longer to finish than you think it will.  Hal cuts all the boards in his shop before assembly on site - he really does.  If it seems like the project should be starting and you don't know why he's not on site, that's why.  The finished product is totally worth the wait.
