"We hired Paramount Siding and Windows to replace our windows and sliding glass door. The entire process from our first meeting with the owner, Brandon, to the Installation, was a pleasant experience. They have a showroom down south which was very helpful because none of the window companies we met with have a showroom. We were able to view several different types of windows by different manufacturers. Who knew windows come with so many different options? We are very happy with our new windows and plan to get more done very soon. I would highly recommend this company for your window needs."

"Initial contact was ok but the gal was a recent hire and could not or would not due to policy answer all my questions. I asked for a price range because if I felt they were too expensive I would not waste my time or their time. Not getting any price range, I set up a time for someone to come by and give me a quote. <br /> <br />The person who came by to give the quote was punctual and professional and took the information required. <br /> <br />I got a call from them with a price of $248 which seemed very high. Decided to call some glass repair places in the yellow pages and found a place on Gunnison and Circle that fixed it all for $75. <br /> <br />The folks at Complete Window Care are very nice but their prices are way too high. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"We found Dutch's Home Improvement through the Sunrise Windows manufacturer website. If I were to sum up Dutch's in one word it would be "Integrity". They are truly honest. They kept their word. If they said they would do something they did it. They were on time. They respected our home and did an excellent job with the replacement windows. They offered a great window at a great price."

"I thought I was going to have to spring for a new cell phone when my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 stopped charging. Instead of going to the service provider, I checked Angie's List and found that CPR was only a mile from my home. I called them, explained that my cell phone does not charge when plugged in, and was told it was probably caused by a broken charging port, a common problem with this phone model. While I waited on the phone, they checked their stock and found that they did have the part I needed. They said the repair would take about two hours. <br /> I dropped my phone off with CPR, but waited while they did a quick charging test and found that my own diagnosis was correct. Less than two hours later, they called me at home and told me it was ready. Since then, it has been working well. The fee was reasonable, and they accept credit cards. They impressed me as being quite knowledgeable about cell phones, very professional and true to their word about how long the repair would take. <br /> There was only one policy I was slightly uncomfortable with. They requested a $35 dollar deposit, which was fine, but explained that it is a non-refundable deposit, to cover their time spent diagnosing and attempting to repair it, even it turns out to be beyond repair. I agree with paying them to at least try, but $35 seems a little high, a full third of the total charge. <br />"

"They were awesome. We had hail damage. They are amazing. The storm was in July, 2016. He came out in the beginning of August to do the initial check of my house. He talked to my insurance company. He was very good with the insurance people in getting my house fixed. It took a while to get done because in Colorado, you can't do some things in the winter. On good days, they would come out and work on repairs.  He subcontracted this stuff out because he looked for people who could do the job at a reasonable price. He is not one of those people that will hire just anybody. He makes sure that the job gets done and people want to work. He called when something came up. He came out to check. He was amazing. He was very informative, very professional and very responsive. I didn't have to deal with a lot of stuff like shady people and insurance scams. He took care of the insurance company and everything else. They were always on time. If they couldn't make it because of weather, you got notification. He would call in advance on the scheduled day, like two hours ahead, so I could get my dogs out of the yard."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Canon City, CO

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
