"Everything went well. I attribute almost all of the success of this project to Steve McClanahan from Kelley Construction. Steve was the only reason we chose Kelley Construction for this work as we have had him do other work for us in the past. He is knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He always makes sure you understand what is being done and that you are satisfied with the work when it is completed."

"Overall, it went well. The project took about 7 weeks. John, the contractor explained that he would provide me with an estimate of the material needed and I was to pay the supplier and he would arrange for the delivery of the material. In this case Home Depot priced the  material and I paid Home Depot and received a detailed receipt. This system worked just fine for me. Deliveries were on time. JMJ Builders staff was always on time (Most of the time they were parked before 8am and came to the door at 8am.) They were personable and very polite. An important point is that John would virtually every evening after work would inform me  of the progress, any problems and the plan for the next days. I did not have a detailed blueprint, but described what I wanted and he would communicate with me to ensure we were still on track. The job was completed by Nov 12 except for a few minor details which he returned to complete by Dec 1.I would not hesitate to refer John to potential customers. I certainly plan to call him next year I may need to do some additional work on the first floor. By the way not only was the staff prompt but they seemed to always be working. John was not at the project every day all day, but he did come by and spent time virtually every day. <br /> His staff seemed to be very competent. <br />"

"Gene and his crew arrived at time he promised . We had a metal roof in our deck that leaked and needed replaced , so we called Gene and had him come give a estimate which we felt was very reasonable around 800.00 - 900. We picked a day to have it done , and Gene and his crew came on time and started right in building a new wood roof, all pressure treated heavy 2x8,2x12-2x10 sheets of plywood and rolled rubber roofing . He moved those heavy boards around like it was nothing very precise in his work and he doesn't stop working breaks or anything - we had him stop long enough to have a sandwich and something to drink . We hired Gene before , to help remodel our bathroom , he put up wallboard for us and trim etc and our kitchen he has put down our new vinyl floating floor and built us a new cabinet door where an old dishwasher used to be matches our cabinets perfectly after painted . My wife and I are very pleased with the work Gene Danneels Construction has done for us , I would recommend him to anyone looking for quality work at a very reasonable price . If we ever need any other work done at home , we plan on calling Gene Danneels Construction no doubt . We love our new roof on the deck we can sit out there and it can be raining and the roof doesn't leak anymore ! Thanks Gene <br />"

C&B Brothers Construction, LLC is a small construction company centered around providing quality, affordable contracting services to customers in North Central Illinois. CBB is fully insured and offers bonding for larger contracts. We have over 20 years experience in the construction industry; we keep it simple. We work hard, provide quality craftsmanship, at a reasonable cost. Major contracting companies are not interested in smaller construction jobs; it just isn't profitable because of their overhead. Due to that, our costs are significantly lower on every project. Give us a call for an estimate on your next project!

"After his quote on the job I expected to wait two weeks (for his other jobs to be completed), but he called a week later and said he was available the next day.  Communicated on the time of day he would arrive with the materials, and actually showed up at the exact time he said he would.  The gutter was installed within a few hours and then he started tearing off the old wall and prepping it for the next day's work.  I didn't have to be home for him to perform his work....important to me that there are trustworthy workers out there.  I came home from work the next day and the job was already completed.  Wall boards and battens straight, wood grain aligned (I didn't expect that), wood filler and caulk used where appropriate to seal out water (I didn't expect that).  I was so amazed at the workmanship, it literally took my breath away.  I would definately recommend him to do any home improvement work, and do intend to have him do more home repairs in the future! <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Canton, IL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
