We have used ASTAR for many years to service our central air.  On June 30th we had a bad thunderstorm that sent a power surge through our home and fried our central air, whole house fan and some other outlets.  ASTAR came and we were originally told that it would be approx. 3-4 weeks and take 2 days to install the new system because they were all booked up. We were ok with that since the weather for the next couple of weeks was going to be in the high 70's. 

The following week the weather changed and it was going to be warmer.  Knowing we had no central air ASTAR dropped off at our home, 2 brand new window air conditioners! WOW!  They would have dropped off as many as we wanted but really only needed them for 2 of the bedrooms. Don't know of any other company that would have done that!  Now the following week (7/13) we had totally forgot the we had relatives from out of state coming to spend a week with us (7/22-7/29) and the weather was going to be brutally hot!  We called ASTAR and explained our situation and are happy to report that they came on Saturday, July 18th and did the entire installation in one day!  They put an extra guy on so they could get the job done!  It has been over a month now of hot and humid weather and the system has been on since they installed it! We have noticed that this new system does a better job at keeping the house cool then the old one which was only 10yrs old.  We highly recommend this company and will continue to use them for our preventive maintenance.  We would have given them a rating of A++ if it was offered!

"We decided to add central air to our house. I called sure-temp as they installed our furnace 4 years ago. Based on my furnace experience, I expected a quote from a polite, professional person and that is exactly what I got. Interestingly enough, I mentioned to the estimator that I felt that Sure Temp was very reasonable with their products and pricing. He said quite bluntly that they were not necessarily the cheapest but that they worked hard to support everything that they sell. To be safe, I had 2 other companies do an assessment. While a month and a half later I have yet to hear from one company, the second was $200.00 more for a similarly featured competitive model. Add the 36 month interest free financing and I am happy. To be honest, the estimators from all 3 companies were professional in their work.
Ok. Back to sure temp. The quote came to me within 2 days. After doing my due diligence, I contacted Sure Temp to confirm, got approved and within a week the install was completed. Talk about fast! The installers arrived early and were pleasant and professional. They cleaned up after themselves very well.
From the initial call through completion, everyone I came into contact with at this firm was never anything but polite, friendly and professional. I would recommend them highly.

They did an awesome job, even letting me know I needed additional work underneath to hold new toilet adequately (a new stainless flange was installed to the existing floor). They were right and showed me. I appreciate that. If a job is going to be done, it should be done right the first time. When everything was done, I was proud of how it looked. Wow! I should have had all new toilets installed."

"Decided we didn't want to put the bulky window A/C units back in this year so it was time to see about a central air unit. Did all the research, and narrowed the brand to Lennox, but as Consumer Reports stated , a poor installation will negate the advantages of a top shelve unit. We got five estimates, three were Lennox certified, we decided on A.Johnson as Anthony ( Sales rep) showed on time, was very knowledable and had all the right answers to our questions, it was a "gut feeling" ,that payed off as the installers were also punctial, professional, efficient , competent and upon departing removed all packaging and other debris. We shortly found out that the A/C Unit WAS as good as advertised as within a week after installation we experienced several 80-90 degree days, and our Lennox unit performed flawlessly.You shouldn't be disappointed with A.Johnson Plumbing and Heating, I know we weren't ....." they done good""

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
