"They remodeled my entire home (2 bed, 2 bath, kitchen, dining, living room). I needed a few room expansions, some new cabinets and appliances. The builders all seemed fairly experienced, and were very professional. It was a long project and I wasn't on site for most of the time, but the end product was exactly what I wanted."

"They determined and proved to the city that it was the city's fault for the cause of my plumbing.  I had a great experience with them, and have used them before.  Their work is always done right, and I've never had to call them back to fix anything."

"At first sight, it looked really good. Upon closer inspection there were numerous nail heads that were sticking out from the siding. I also had requested that 6" fly rafters be installed on the shed. It was obvious that the fly rafters were not 6" wide, only 4" wide. It was not long before one of the doors started to warp as well. The shingles at the ends of the shed were trimmed irregularly so that they were short in one area and longer in another. I called the owner, John, and expressed my concerns. He wanted to wait until the weather got better to make the repairs. I agreed to wait since this seemed like a reasonable request. In the meantime, two of the sheets of siding had actually some loose from the studs and the door warped so badly that I had to break the hasp in order to get into the shed. After the weather got better in the spring, I waited to hear from him about when they would make the repairs. After a couple of emails and a phone call he finally agreed to send some men out to make the repairs. Unfortunately, the weather became very wet and the repairs were postponed until it would be easier to get to my shed since it is pretty far back on my property. After a couple of months of waiting and more emails, a repair crew finally arrived. They replaced the warped door, fixed the shingles, and reattached the siding. They were supposed to have delivered a check for the difference in the price between the 4" fly rafters and the 6" fly rafters. This was not delivered. Upon close inspection of the new door, the trim that was used was of different thicknesses so that the trim joints were not flush. I called John, and emailed pictures, of this sloppy craftsmanship. He said he would send someone out to fix it , along with the refund check, as soon as possible. It never happened. I finally tired of having to call and email over and over again to try to get what I wanted. I caulked the bad joints and made them look as good as possible so that I could get a good coat of paint on the shed before winter got here. Others may have had a good experience this company, but mine has been nothing but one of frustration and dissatisfaction. <br />"

"James and his work crew were very fast, reliable and affordable. Everything was done just as we asked. He wasn't the contractor to push you in a certain direction of things, he took our ideas and made them come true. Our entire house was built in 6 months. He is very professional and conducted business in a professional manner. He is very trustworthy and affordable. If we wanted him to change something, he fixed or changed it with a smile on his face. Definitely have recommended him to family and friends. <br />"

"I am very pleased with this company and their work. <br /> <br /> The project was executed to perfection. This company stayed with the project until it was completely finished. They declared before starting that they only do one project at a time and they do not start another project until the one they are doing is completely finished----complete. <br /> <br /> Randy and Jerry are perfectionist. The quality of their work was outstanding. All lines are straight and corners are square. They construct the building exactly to specs from the manufacture.....no shortcuts. <br /> <br /> Not only are they perfectionist, but these guys, you can trust. They are the real deal. <br /> <br /> I highly recommend JR Construction for any project you have in mind. They will begin building my new home hopefully this spring."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Central City, KY

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
