"Had good recommendation going in and we were overwhelmed with the awesome results!! They turned an empty alcove that was awkward to use into a fantastic built-in shelving unit with storage and a perfect tv mount!"

"<p>Mary Ann and Terry took the old German Hoosier that I had bought at an Estate sale and turned it back into a true treasure. It had water damage and they were able to fix a lot of the damage and the parts that they couldn't they replaced and its hard to tell it was done. I think this piece is now something that will be passed down for generations.</p> <br />"

"<p>It went well.  I ordered the fabric through them.  They have multiple samples in their showroom.  The fabric arrived within three days.   I advised Justin, the owner, there was no hurry on the chair, before Thanksgiving would be fine.   He had it completed within three weeks.  Amazing!  He and the staff were friendly and courteous.  In fact, his father helped with the fabric selection and he was right.   </p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"Marvin did an excellent job of completely refinishing our kitchen cabinets, with the addition of enhanced crown molding, cabinet molding and slow close drawer slides. He did a very professional job, and we returned home to a spotless kitchen. We would highly recommend him."

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Charlotte, NC

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
