When you have your local city inspector tell you during inspection of the tank installation that "oh, Joyce did it? Then I don't even need to look at the installation...". "We could not have been more pleased. We needed to replace our first floor AC, which is a split-type ductless system, about 17 years old. We had an idea of what the cost would be from an online site: [*** Link removed ***] We got 4 bids, 3 from A rated Angie's List contractors to install a Mitsubishi system (top of the line). Except for one, which was off the charts, the bids weren't that far apart. While Unique was not the lowest bid, we chose them for three reasons: (1) Jason (their rep) was the most savvy about the Mass Save and Mass CEC Air Source rebates, which were quite significant (he handled all the rebate paperwork for us); (2) Unique was able to do the job in a week; and (3) Unique included all the electric work into the total bid (rewiring was required). The installation team (John and Quinn) was excellent. It took them a day and half, They were quiet, neat, professional, highly respectful of our homes and proud of their work. We had worried that they would have to remove wooden ductwork which had been recently painted, but they managed to snake the new hoses through the existing ductwork without disturbing anything. Unique had an electrical contractor on site who replaced the breakers on our electrical panel, installed a higher capacity wire from the panel to the AC system, and replaced the cutoff switch on the outside. We were quite pleased with Unique's work, and would definitely recommend them to others."

Since we <br /> hadn't bought the fans yet, it was helpful that he told us what to <br /> look for and suggested a particular brand. We then ordered fans <br /> through Lowe's. <br /> The company was prompt with returning calls and providing a written <br /> estimate in the mail. <br /> Once we had an appointment with the company that was going to vent the <br /> fans, we scheduled Village Electric to come out several days before <br /> that day.The two workers who came out were courteous and arrived within the <br /> hour time window we expected them. We tested out the fans and they <br /> worked fine, but we waited until they were vented to the outside to <br /> actually use them. <br /> The quality of the electrical work performed was good, but we had a <br /> couple of minor issues, which is the reason that we gave a B for <br /> professionalism. To install the fans, the workers had to go into the attic. <br /> They had to move some insulation from the attic floor <br /> and did not roll it back into place when they were done, and the <br /> insulation batting covering the attic hatch mysteriously disappeared. <br />   <br /> Also, a piece of ceiling that needed to be cut out was left in the <br /> attic instead of being discarded. Replacement of the junction box for <br /> the master bathroom light/fan switches caused a ceramic towel bar to <br /> partly detach from the wall. <br /> We have used Village Electric several times before, and this is the <br /> only time anything like this has happened. We informed <br /> them about it and don't expect to have any future problems, so we will <br /> use them again. <br />"

"I accepted the first proposal and I wrote them a check. A few days later I decided not to do it and they returned the check. Everything is all right, so they didn't actually do any work. They did give me an estimate. It would have been about $4000. I could get rebates from the Federal government and tax free loans to help pay for it. They gave me a free estimate. I can buy the system at the store and pay someone to install it. They came out, gave me the estimate quickly, and I have no complaints about the estimate."

"we have a crazy heating system; no one in the ten years we've had the house has really been able to figure it out. That's just life. When the heating stopped working (in January) we called Milltown. They were very responsive. We had a technician here in a day who figured out there was a leak. Finding the source, and how to isolate it was anything but simple. The tech in charge persisted (figured out, in fact that the system had been piped wrong) and solved the problem over the course of a day and a half. Many would have thrown up their hands or managed some bad technical band-aid. It was expensive (but plumbing sort of always is, and I don't think this rose to the level of unfair), but importantly the system is now better understood and there's no more leak. On top of that all of my questions were answered and the work was done well. Highly recommended."
