"It’s really beautiful. Carlos came out and assessed and we talked ; he measured and gave me a price from the start. He arranged to have me come to his current job site, so I could see the ideas that were being implemented and quality of work. Before starting, we altered and changed the design a little here and there and he always let me know if it would raise or lower costs. Carlos started when he said he would, finished when he said he would, works long consecutive days and is very well organized. He does all the work but smartly has a person or two in some days helping him mix cement, help with material movements and cleanup daily which was appreciated. The end result is a beautiful product with excellent ideas that he brought into the process. The scope of the work was 3 granite steps olus landing Of 41 inches and stone risers. Also a 28 foot approx walkway of brick pavers and a series of granite steps. Along the side cobblestone pavers For most of it. There was real attentions to construction detail in laying the stone and granite and hiding cement. That was important to me and it’s important Carlos. He RVN went and bought an extra piece of granite we hadn’t thought about needing but it was just sharper to do that. Carlos takes great pride in his work and even in the hard labor days he is happy to be creating. He had to cyst each piece of stone for the stair box and risers from huge chunky pieces and his price was fair, I had offers below but I didn’t have confidence in the masons work and I had offers that were above But to me seemed excessive. Carlos keeps his costs down by doing work himself and avoiding big equipment rentals when he can. I had faith in Carlos, and I think you can as well. Look at his portfolio and if u like something like it, or you have a picture you want him to use as guide- material, lay out etc, show him and hire him!"

"Justin and his team did an amazing job on our patio! They were professionals throughout the entire process with clear communication. The project began and was completed on time. The price was competitive and the quality was worth every penny. Justin adhered to the estimate he gave us and even added a granite step to complete the cost at no cost! Couldn’t be happier with the entire experience and results. Thank you! Would highly recommend to anyone!"

"Ben and his son repointed and waterproofed my 220 year old stone basement. He gave me a quote within hours of my call, did the work a week later and the price was very reasonable. They showed up on time and kept everything neat and tidy while they worked. He did everything by hand and is very meticulous. The quality of his work is unsurpassed and my basement stone walls look like new. I cannot thank him enough for taking my basement from one I hated, to one I cannot stop looking at. I have many more masonry jobs that I need done and will definitely be hiring Ben again."

"Tom and his crew were great! We have a small ranch, and it had been probably 35 years since the kitchen was remodeled. We wanted to have a load-bearing wall removed between the living room and the kitchen, in order to open up the space. The kitchen was gutted to the studs and subfloor. We needed a beam installed to replace the wall. We had the old windows removed and new windows installed. We stayed in the house without a working kitchen or living room while the job was done. Tom and his crew made what could have been a very stressful situation pretty painless. All the people who worked in the house were professional, courteous, careful, and cleaned up after themselves. They took the time to make sure things were done right. Tom was great about keeping us informed about the process - who would be coming each day and what they would be doing. If no one was going to at the house, he let us know why. He recommended quality sources for the kitchen cabinets and for the quartz countertop. He had a flooring guy who was able to match the existing wood floor in the living room so we could run the same floor in the kitchen and down the hallway. That saved us about $4000 from the cost of installing all new wood floors. All in all, we are thrilled with our new kitchen, pennisula and the openness of the area now. We want to have our bathroom renovated and as soon as we have the money, I'm calling Tom to come out and take care of that for us."

"We received quotes from 3 companies. Edson was fast at responding and showed up right on time to do the estimate (he originally gave us a quote for 2 rooms at $950, but rectified that and charged us the third room at cost). He gave us a quote within a few days and the work was started and completed with a week of making our decision to go with him. He showed up on time to make sure everything was set and introduce us to the painter (I can't remember his name!).  The work was done in 2 days, which was amazingly fast. The guy who did the painting was very friendly and respectful. He also did an great job cleaning up. After Day 1, he moved all our furniture back into place so we didn't have to deal with it. It was like he was never there! I really appreciated not having to re-arrange our bedroom to sleep at night. The bed and everything else was already put back into place.  <br /> I also trusted Edson's opinion on paint color. I really wanted our nursery to have horizontal or vertical stripes. I asked him what he thought and he gave me an honest opinion, but also said in the end, we can choose what we want - its totally up to us. The house is old (1890) and has walls and floors that are uneven. I was set on using stripes, but he explained that it might look too busy (the room actually has 7 walls). I talked to him at length about this and in the end I chose to paint the room one color. Well, it looks amazing. He was right.  <br /> We are very satisfied with our experience and should we need more painting, will hire again! <br />"

"Great experience all around. Removed five large bushes and installed a new paver walkway from the driveway to our front porch. Competitive estimate and pricing, answered all my questions during the design process, and completed the work exactly as expected and on time. Would absolutely hire again."

"Chris and the team did a fantastic job. Our side yard was a swamp. Chris and the team made it a place our kids could enjoy safely. Taking down trees and raising the ground with drainage in mind. 10 loads of dirt and hydroseed. The Hydroseed went great as well. I was nervous with it being early August and hot that the seed would not take. 2 weeks later and we had a full lawn 4 inches high. Thanks Chris!"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Cherry Valley, MA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
