"Very well. Will serviced the house. He suspected there could be mold in the ducts, because there wasn't any in the furnace itself. I had burning sensations in my eyes and throat and that usually is generated by mold. The burning continues, so I'm not sure there was a mold issue, but I'm glad I had the service done just in case there was. Will is very professional. Explained everything that he was going to do. He left the house in the same condition as when he arrived. Also, he was quick to say that if I had any problems in the future, he would be glad to come back."

"Initial project: Grade B.  Overall went well.  Only reason for a B is that they noted that they were going to put a trench around my laundry sink as a means to prevent damage if it overflowed.  But when they came back to do the job it wasn't done.  Overall I haven't had a drop of water since the install so that is very good.  The rep was Adam.
- !!!! UPDATE 20131125: Spoke to Jeff Johnson GM, he noted that this wouldn't have been an option in the first place as it could pose a local issue (gray water pumped outside the home.

Warranty: Grade A. Adam (rep) noted to me that no matter where (not through windows or above obviously) water came in (walls or floor) that the warranty would cover it.  Well you don't get the warranty until after the job... and guess what?  Water up from the floors isn't covered.  Not cool.
- !!!! UPDATE 20121125: Spoke to Jeff Johnson GM, he noted that this condition is covered.  My mistake. Grade changed to A.

Basement windows: Grade F.  Called them and had them out to estimate putting in a basement egress as well as the other basement windows.  The rep (Brett) came out, measured, etc.  Then nothing.  I called.  I called.  The customer service team told me on numerous occasions that the "president of the company" was going to call.  He never did.  Eventually, a sub or partner of theirs called me and provided me a quote over the phone (for the egress - the didn't do the other windows).  The quote was blind and didn't take into consideration any of the data that Brett collected during his visit.  This ordeal was a TOTAL waste of my time.
- !!!! UPDATE 20131125: Spoke to Jeff Johnson GM, he noted that this rep is no longer with them and that he should have provided an immediate quote for the windows.  The only time the sub should have called is for the egress...

Customer service: Grade C.  They provided a mold remediation treatment as part of the basement water proofing.  One of my walls not is showing signs of something.  So I called.  Nothing.  No call back.  Nothing.
I regret going with this company.  I should have bit the bullet and spent the extra $$ to go with their competition.
- !!!! UPDATE 20131125: Spoke to Jeff Johnson GM.  He will be out in 2 days to treat the location and noted he will install a hose into my dehumidifier so that it drains into the system.
- !!!! UPDATE 20131127: Jeff was out, assessed the situation and provided a clear path to resolution.  I have homework but his team will be out to solve the problem.
- !!!! UPDATE 20140115 Grade changed to C.  Jeff's team corrected the issue to my satisfaction."

"I donâ  t even know where to begin to review this hardworking, honest and courteous company. Everyone that I encountered during the mold remediation project was simply top notch, beginning with the operators and office staff. The difference that I have noticed in the health of my home is phenomenal. If you want an unwarranted, inexpensive, Band-Aid job, call someone else; but if you want it done right, call this companyâ  they only know how to do quality work"

"They were late arrving on the first day but once they showed up they did a great job and had to come back again the second day and they were late again but the finished work was very good. They were polite and clean and protected the rest of the furniture very well. There was no mess to clean up after they left. Overall a good experience and would have given them 5 stars if not for the tardiness."

"I love, love, loved the customer service I received. The inspector was very professional and knowledgeable. I gave the company a 4 star rating because I didn't use them. I found their prices to be a bit high, however, with their credentials that they have I completely undertand why. Would I recommend them, most definitely."

"Arrived on Monday morning to do demolition and cleaning of a 30X70 crawl space because of mold infestation. On Thursday was informed that insulation was out cleaning was done and insulation was to be installed and Drylok put on walls and job completed on Friday. Received call Friday morning from crew leader informing me that insulation would not be done because of a credit card issue resulting in not being able to purchase insulation and that they would return the following week. Subsequently my sister who had done mold remediation work inspected the work over the weekend and found that mold was still present areas had no Drylok and insulation remnants remained. I called first thing Monday made their office aware and they sent another more experienced technician to check it out. He agreed with her assessment and he and a trainee spent three days correcting the work. No one worked on Thursday they came back on Friday did the insulation work after we agreed the cleaning had been done and mold removed, had to remind technicians again that Drylok application was still insufficient again technicians agreed that job was not complete and they had ran out of insulation and are scheduled to return on Monday and apply more Drylok and finish installing insulation. In the meantime have received an invoice which is payable upon receipt on Friday and another email today Labor Day reminding me that it has not been paid in spite of the fact that the job at best won?t be completed until the Tuesday after Labor Day. Not Happy. It appears that this job will be completed this week but it has been a struggle. All crew members had been very pleasant to work with and have did their best to get the work done to our satisfaction. This could have went much smoother and without the credit card delay the first week resolution of installed insulation into a still mold infested crawl space would not have been good."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Chewsville, MD

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
