"Great. Upon trimming the bushes, a rock went through a sunroom glass door, which required replacement by Blair windows and reapplication of the solar film by Distinctive Glass (Bryan Shoush). Matt Harden immediately took care of scheduling the repairs and promptly paying the vendors without any haggling/hassling. Peggy, the owner, has been a real professional to deal with. They will not be mowing after this season, so we'll need that service supplied by another vendor."

"This is the second time I've had Karl do concrete work for me in the last 5 years.  He is generally not the cheapest, but he is absolutely the best!  He shows up when he says he will and does the work in a timely manner.  Many concrete companies will do the bare minimum and that's why there are so many problems with their work within a couple of years.  Karl's jobs will stand the test of time, which is why I have no problem paying a little more for them.

"Travis, the owner, came to my home for an estimate and explained the process that we needed to go through to fix our driveway. He gave suggestions on materials and equipment. As a young man I spent summers working excavation for my Grandfather, knowing what I learned from him I believe Travis knows what he is doing. We plan to have him come back soon to start the work."

"Michael (owner) was awesome to work with! Came by the house three different times, once on a Sunday, to talk through ideas me look at plant options online with my husband and I. Crew showed up exactly when he said they would and finished on time. They cleaned up well and hauled off all debris. Very happy with the final outcome and will be hiring again to complete border around a new privacy fence."

"Dan fruits is the most fairless contractor i have hired. Even though the job took over twice as long as get thought (4.5 days vs 2 days) he only asked for $500 more than the original quote and he said if that was out of line we could ditch the extra money. He is also coming back to regrade where he installed the french drain and to regrade the side yard that got torn up moving concrete slabs from around the old pool and and the five truckloads of dirt to regrade our whole 6,000+ square feet of our back yard"

"They submitted a plan.  I had no clue what I wanted or needed in my spot and relied on them to make the professional decisions.  The weather put their arrival date back to get to me. When they did come, the owners that I met with came initially but left the job to a crew.  I came to the crew a couple of times to talk initially and ask about landscape fabric, etc and then to offer drinks. And when they finished, they left without a good bye, this is what you do (when to water, how much, this is your *___* and how to care for it...nothing. So I was a bit disappointed in that.  Also, I specifically said I needed dwarf material close to the house so I hope I get that as the years go on.  The product did not have a good fall-leaves started falling off early and nothing ever bloomed.  Was told it was due to the late installation, mid summer.

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Cicero, IN

Most shed foundations benefit from a gravel layer four to six inches deep after proper compaction. The exact depth may vary depending on your specific soil conditions, climate, and shed weight. In areas with poor drainage or for heavier structures, contractors might recommend slightly deeper installations. Building the pad in multiple compacted layers rather than a single thick pour helps achieve optimal stability and load distribution.

Gravel pads cost significantly less than concrete foundations. While gravel materials run about $1.25 to $1.80 per square foot, concrete slabs average $6 per square foot. For a standard shed base, this price difference translates to substantial savings. Beyond the initial cost advantage, gravel pads also offer easier installation, simpler modifications if needed, and don't require specialized concrete finishing skills.

For a standard 10-by-12 shed pad, you'll need enough gravel to cover 120 square feet at the recommended depth. At rates of $1.25 to $1.80 per square foot, expect to spend $150 to $216 on gravel materials alone. Remember to factor in extending the pad beyond the shed's dimensions by one to two feet on each side for better drainage and stability, which increases the actual area needed.

The ideal gravel for shed foundations combines stability with proper drainage capabilities. Crusher run ($0.40 per square foot) makes an excellent base layer because it contains various particle sizes that lock together when compacted. For top layers, angular gravel provides better drainage while maintaining stability. Avoid perfectly round decorative stones as they don't compact effectively and may shift under weight, compromising your shed's stability over time.
