"Nicole performed a thorough, detailed inspection of the entire house from roof and attic to foundation. She did not let rain interfere at all with a complete check of the exterior. She patiently checked every window, door, cabinet, drawer, plumbing fixture, electrical outlet and switch, fire alarm and more as well as the water heater, a thorough test of the furnace and careful examination of the electrical service. All the while Nicole explained what she was learning about the house and willingly answered my questions. She provided a full, easy-to-read and helpful report on the promised schedule."

"Unfortunately I could not be at the inspection but the information I received was very detailed and i am very pleased.  It was obvious they took their time with the inspection and it doesn't look like they missed anything <br> <br>"

"<p>Very well.  I thought that the fan of the radon mitigator was broken -- and that would have cost me over $300 to replace.  The repair man realized what I had not -- which was that painters had accidentally flipped the switch on the outside and turned it off.  He COULD easily have replaced the fan and not told me that the fix was so simple, but he just turned it back on for me.  I bought a lock so that this could not happen again -- I also got radon detector which I will use in a few days to make sure that the mitigator is working correctly.<br /> <br /> He gave me a 5% discount and accepted a $25 coupon from Angie's list for the radon detector.</p> <p>My only complaint was with the company itself.  I bought the radon mitigator from Environmental doctor in 2010.  In 2012, they did notify me that it should be tested every two years and that it was time. They did not notify me last year.</p>"

"Was an EXCELLENT experience. They had one gentleman do the bug inspection on Friday and he emailed me his report that same day. Condo passed and he provided additional advice to prevent future problems. The following day we had the home inspection and radon test. Keep in mind I had every intention of buying the condo. I doubted they were going to find any problems, because the place looked great. Well the inspector found many hidden problems due to structural issues which had caused years of water damage. Problems that would have cost me an additional 10-15K to fix later. As soon as he alerted me to the problems, I told him I was going to back out of the deal. He offered to shut down the radon test and gave me a reduced rate of $375. I was VERY appreciative of that consideration trust me. I am looking at another condo tomorrow and I can tell you if I buy it, this company is the only one I will trust to do my inspection. <br />"

"He was all around fantastic.  He was the husband of our Realtor and it worked out really well because his wife can recommend him and he can do the home inspection.  He is incredibly thorough.  More thorough than any home inspector that I have ever seen.  He practically gave us a novel that listed everything on our house that could possibly be wrong or be upgraded, maintenance things and continued to email us once a month with home tips and things that we should look out for.  He is incredibly honest and down to earth.  He also did both mold and radon testing.  He does have an assistant.  I remember that he gave me a discount for no apparent reason other than being nice.  I would use him again."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Cincinnati, OH

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
