"Jesus and Frank did an awesome job replacing the gas furnace and air conditioning in my home. The system was old and they were up to date on the code so I was reassured they did things right. Highly skilled working with gas pipe, pvc exhaust through the foundation and duct work. Reliable was the lowest bidder of three. I needed the furnace moved back several feet and their work looks great. They stayed 13 hours to make sure the job was done right (and in one day). They were pleasant and very hard workers. Thanks, guys!"

"Our hot water heater began leaking from inside of the unit.  The existing unit was very old and needed to be replaced.  After researching Angie's List, I made a purchase for a replacement hot water heater with Henson Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing.  Henson Mechanical reached out to me later that day to schedule my replacement, and to verify information about my existing setup.  They were able to send an installer out the very next day. <br /> Prior to his visit, Kurt Schmeisser called to inform me that he would be the person to install the new water heater.  Kurt was prompt, and extremely professional.  During the removal of the old unit, and the installation of the new unit, Kurt made sure not to damage anything in my house.  He made sure to put down plastic over runs of carpet in my basement to ensure that it was not soiled. <br /> Since it is now code, Kurt installed an expansion water tank.  This was included in the initial purchase price of the unit, and was not an unexpected and added expense. <br /> Before he departed, Kurt showed me how to manipulate the temperature of the tank.  He then demonstrated how to ignite the pilot light if there was ever a need. <br /> Through the entire process, Kurt was very polite and professional.  I would consider using Henson Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing for future projects. <br />"

"They replaced a 3 inch pipe and they put in a vent in the sewage line so that it could be easily cleaned out if it ever got stopped up. It didn't have that before. They quoted me $2000 for the job and when they found that it couldn't work initially because the septic tank was full of sand they still went ahead and fixed that for the same $2000. They go beyond what I asked them to do and they didn't charge any more for it. They did a good job. The quality of the work is excellent."

"First we heard weird noises... things going bump in the night... There had been quite a bit of rain lately and it was later determined even if the noises were initially animals, we'd graduated to a full on leak. I'm talking rain in the fireplace. Talk about stressed! Waylon showed up like a calm chimney super hero with no agenda but setting things right and gaining a customer for life. The initial estimate and evaluation happened immediately and he didn't hang any initial fees over our heads. It was simple and quick. Every other company had difficult schedules, expensive evaluations, complicated and confusing fee structures... Not Holy Smokes! Nope. They just got to work and fixed it. We spoke over the weekend and had a new pan installed before Tuesday afternoon. Why can't everyone work like Waylon? I guess it's because there aren't that many chimney super heroes out there."

"He found the cause very quickly and knew what to do about it. But then he had to drive to town to get a length of pvc pipe. When he got back, he realized he did not have the fitting for the top of the pipe, so he rambled around in his van for 45 minutes looking for the fitting, and finally had to drive back to town to buy the fitting; after returning to our house, then he installed the new pipe and fitting. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Clermont, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
