We had two full bathrooms completely re-done as well as new kitchen counter tops and laminate flooring installed. Emily LaRose, the designer, is the consummate professional designer. She has a firm grasp of design concepts and gave us functional and beautiful designs. She is a skillful communicator, equally strong at explaining choices and listening to and addressing our concerns or preferences. Emily kept the projects on track and made herself available for our questions. Our initial choice for laminate flooring for the kitchen was discontinued by the manufacturer. Emily immediately contacted us, and we met. She presented other recommended choices that would work with our counter top choice and existing cabinetry. We ended up with beautiful flooring and an on-schedule installation. Emily visited our home throughout the projects and always answered our phone calls and emails promptly. She was extremely helpful and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Further, all the other Kitchen and Bath World staff we met were very helpful, and we felt completely comfortable having them in our home. Greg, the lead installer, has an outstanding work ethic and outstanding construction / remodeling skills. "I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "The estimator was very knowledgeable and explained his products and services very well.  He provided a detailed plan and estimate.
The installation was done all in one day - including removal of the old counter top and the installation of the new counter top - and it was done on the pre-scheduled day.  Sears was excellent at accommodating our scheduling restrictions.  The new counter top looks nice and we are very happy with the result.
There were a few glitches - the garbage disposal leaked and needed service, and it was tough to get an updated estimate when we made a mid-stream change - but we were still very happy with the result.
Note that the Sears office that we dealt with is in Sharon Hill PA, not in Windsor Mill MA as listed by Angie's List, and the corporate headquarters is in Longwood FL.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
