"I was contacted the same day I submitted my inquiry and had a scheduled appointment with in 24 hours. Finest Chimney contacted me 25 minutes before they arrived and they were exactly on time. Cleaning took about 20 minutes and they were very thorough and professional. They even gave me some feed back about future roof/chimney repairs. I will definitely call Finest Chimney Sweep for our future needs."

"Chimney Doctor gets a "A" for the actual chimney work and a "F" for clean-up (which averages out to a "C"). The mortar between the bricks of our chimney was beginning to deteriorate. We hired Chimney Doctor to tuckpoint most of the chimney and perform other minor work re: the cap. The work itself was done in a reasonable amount of time and looks great. That said, the chimney is located right next to our new composite deck that we had built a few months ago. I emphasized several times in writing to the company that the deck was the largest investment we had made in the house and we were very sensitive about protecting it. They acknowledged this sentiment multiple times, also in writing. Despite these requests, the furniture and the deck surfaces were a complete mess after they finished their work. The workers allowed the dust to settle on the deck and, due to the high humidity, this dust adhered itself to every surface. The company acknowledged this issue and did send an employee days later to clean the deck. Unfortunately, this was ineffective. It took me hours over several days (I had to wait for the deck to dry each time to see spots I missed) of power washing and scrubbing to get the deck clean again and to clean each item of furniture. When I informed them of this situation, they did apologize but provided no other refund or resolution. I recognize this process creates dust and that's just part of the work, but I think they could've done much more to either proactively protect the deck, to suggest that WE should've put some tarps down on our own, or to pay for a professional 3rd party company to come in and clean up. All told, if your chimney is nowhere near a nice patio/deck/etc., then by all means hire Chimney Doctor. If it is near an area you're sensitive about, then I'd look elsewhere or at least be prepared for a large clean-up effort on your part."

"Needed a water heater replaced and code says that a chimney liner is necessary. I called around and Capitol Chimney had a competitive quote. We had used them once before for chimney cap, and the work there was good. They came out as scheduled and finished the work in a few hours. Everything looks good and they left extra pipe for the plumbing company to attach the water heater. Recommended"

"They did a great job. Came on the day they scheduled and finished the job in the time they said it would take. The workers were polite and respectful (we were locked down with COVID) so their behavior mattered. I would recommend this firm to anyone looking to replace roof. We received three bids and they were in the middle. Love my new roof!"

"Glenn and Rocco took great care in giving the insert a good inspection. They made some adjustments and replaced necessary components of the fireplace and put everything back perfectly. I will ask for them for future check ups! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"When we couldn’t turn off our insert with the remote Xmas weekend & the installing Co in Waldorf failed to even call back the next week, I contacted Chesapeake Chimney. Joseph came promptly & ID’d what had failed to work. He ordered the warranty parts & did a great job installing the new parts."

"First I would like to note the people at Corley are honest and accurate with their estimates. They started within the quoted time frame (6-8 weeks which was reasonable considering the rain and backlogs of 2018). They also offered the lowest cost and best overall estimate. Their contract spelled out exactly what they were going to do and what specific materials I was going to get. They are a good company. The work went well from delivery of the materials to cleanup. It took 2 1/2 days for 5-6 guys to complete the work. Everything was done according to the contract and the roof looked good when they finished. I highly recommend Corley Roofing. (Caveat for insurance claims- The March 2018 wind storm damaged about half of my main roof and this was my first experience with a homeowner's insurance claim. Even though half of my main roof singles were damaged, the insurance company said they would only pay for spot patching. I had an estimate from Corley but I wanted to get one last estimate and I wound up signing a contract with another "reputable" and large roofing company but they wound up wasting 5 months of my time by doing nothing. That other company only does open-ended contracts for insurance claims where they "work with your insurance company" to get the most money for you. This is a borderline scam. Notice those types of contracts have no written specifics! Rather than a whole roof replacement they might only do spot patching and there's nothing you can do about it because that's the most they could get the insurance company to pay. I did have this other company put in writing that the contract was void if they couldn't get an entire roof replacement but I forgot to put in a deadline. The 5 wasted months happened mainly because of my patience - 2018 was rainy and roofing companies were backlogged from the widespread wind damage. A few times each month I got reasonable excuses from this other company about the delays and because of their good reviews I believed they could eventually get my insurance company to pay for more than spot patching. But it was 4 months before they finally came out to my house to take pictures for the supplemental claim. A month afterward they still had not sent in the supplemental claim to my insurance company. The way the contract was written I did not have an out or a reason to cancel except for the incorrect 6-week estimate for work completion. 5 months had passed by the time I gave up and I told them to cancel the contract. If you're doing insurance related work try to find honest companies like Corley that will put in writing exactly what materials will be used and exactly what work will be done, regardless of how they will work with the insurance company. Because I went with Corley I have to submit the supplemental claim myself. But that's much better than signing an open-ended contract where essentially a roofing company can do whatever work they want. Because of the roof damage in 2018 and some small damage twice before, all I wanted was 130 MPH rated roofing and my insurance company to pay for it.)"

"We originally hired Boyd to replace our part asphalt shingle, and part membrane roof. They did a great job, left the yard clean, and were very responsive to us. Later we did some remodeling and installed a new furnace, and we asked them to come out to be sure that the skylights and vent pipes were properly installed in the new roof. They were very responsive and quick to come when we needed them, and did the work quickly and efficiently."
