"George and his crew were great. They repaired the culvert in our driveway. His crew showed up on time and completed the job quicker than anticipated. George adjusted the labor cost and I saved a little bit. I will definitely keep Outdoor Living in mind for any other future landscaping projects. "

"I highly recommend Dana King Next Project Studio for your home renovation needs. We were planning a rather large renovation including a complete gut of our kitchen and guest bath, as well as refreshing the family room and main hallway. It was important that we had a designer/contractor who would oversee the entire project. We had used Dana King in 2015 to refresh our foyer, living room and dining room and we were impressed with how smoothly the project went, so we hired them again in late 2022. We met with Dana to go over the scope of the project. Dana then gave us estimated costs and timelines. Dana’s group handled every step of the project. The project was overseen by our project manager, Drew Chapman. They made sure all the proper permits were in place before the project began. Our designer, Meg Blais, was in contact with us nearly every day for design selections. The carpenters, Nick Duncan and Greg Piper, made sure the project stayed on schedule, overseeing plumbers, flooring installers, electricians, insulators, fireplace installers, and painters. Meg made sure our appliances, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, paint, and backsplashes were all ordered on time to keep the project on track. Our biggest design issues were with the kitchen location. From the front door, you had to either walk down the hall through the family room into the kitchen, or else go through the dining room. I am not a fan of open concept, so I needed ideas on how to make the kitchen more accessible without tearing down walls. I was also concerned that the main narrow hallway was so dark. Meg came up with the great idea of adding a doorway from the kitchen to the hallway. This provided immediate access to the kitchen from the main hallway, as well as providing extra light to the hallway. She also increased the opening from the dining room to the kitchen and moved the refrigerator to a more accessible location. Even though the doorway in the kitchen meant losing cabinet space, Meg’s design gave us more storage than we had in the old kitchen. The entire process took three months, but the project manager and carpenters kept us informed every single day what had been completed and what was happening the next day, so we were never left wondering what was next with our project. Because Dana King Next Project Studio handles every aspect of a remodel, you don’t have to worry about permits, inspections, which trades people will be showing up each day. Everything was so smooth, and the people assigned to our project were the nicest, kindest, and most professional I’ve ever worked with. I had no problem with having them in our home every day. Our dog loved everyone; it was tough to keep him out from underfoot. Just the best company I’ve ever worked with, and we will definitely use them again when it's time to update our master bed and bath."

"Everything was pretty smooth from speaking to representatives in store to instillation. All our questions were answered throughout. Workers arrived on time and cleaned up afterward. We had a problem with the blower fan quitting a couple weeks after installation. They were very quick to replace the fan as remote. Love the fireplace and due to our cool spring weather have gotten to enjoy numerous times. It warms up our open concept kitchen, living room, dining area nicely.(Approximately 900sqft."

"Jim took over after a previous "Contractor"  (I use the term very loosely) had kept the materials for 10 weeks, showed up once, and missed multiple appointments.  I even ran into "Mr. Previous Contractor" at a local store while he was supposed to be working at my house!  "Mr. Previous Contractor" ignored my phone calls, lied when cornered, and generally behaved like a professional rat.   Anyway, Jim of Ferguson construction, did this job on a time and materials basis.  He was unable to give a firm estimate because he was going to have to repair some of the hacked up problems caused by the fired handyman.  Jim's best guess was that he could do it in four hours, which was right on the mark.   Since rain was forecast on the day of the job, he called and requested to be allowed to come early.  He arrived exactly at the agreed upon time, worked steadily outdoors, even in the rain, and completed the job in 4 hours flat, including completely cleaning up the job site.  It looks perfect, and he fixed the damage done by the previous hack!  It is solid as a rock.  He was extremely courteous and professional, with a nice sense of humor.  The lady in the office, is also warm, friendly, and very courteous.  I would recommend them very highly, and have already planned to have them come back and do some other miscellaneous jobs in our home, including fixing some unfinished hack "repairs" by the previous buffoon.  I only wish the previous guy was listed on this site, so I could give him the "F" he deserves.  Just when I had thrown up my hands in despair and tears, a friend recommended Ferguson, and she was absolutely right.  As long as we live in this area, we will call Jim Ferguson."

"Scorpion home has done many projects for our home. Over the summer they built us a new deck. Our old one was all rotted out. They completely removed the old one and built the new one from scratch. They did an outstanding job and we couldn't be happier. They even found a sink hole that was allowing water in our crawl space. They notified me and filled it to prevent water from going into our home. Saved us from future problems! About a month later, we had them do some earthwork. Our backyard was slanted downward where all the rainwater was going in our crawlspace and causing problems. Mike and his team drew up a solution and installed underground pipes and channels to have the water diverted around our home. Their work has diverted all the water to go around our home and preventing future water damage. Mike also built me a custom 12x16 shed. Mike and Robert did an outstanding job with building a foundation and made the shed exactly like we wanted. Lastly, in November we had our kitchen, living room, hallway and laundry room floor replaced. We had very old tile and carpet throughout and wanted something a little more maintenance free. He recommended a luxury vinyl tile and we couldn't be happier. It's water resistant and very pet friendly. Mike and Robert went out of their way to install wood trim as well to help the appearance of the floor. They stained the wood to match the cabinets and flooring and we couldn't be happier. Overall, if you're looking for someone to do your projects the "right way," you won't be disappointed with their work. They take the time to tell you exactly what they're doing and they do everything the way it's supposed to be without taking short cuts. Their professionalism was outstanding and we recommend them for any project you may have!"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Collinsville, IL

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
