"Ryan came out to look at the problem and gave an estimate at the beginning of July. He took pictures and sent us a formal estimate by e-mail that included a full description of possible work to be done and the pictures. He was professional and pleasant. We decided that we wanted to have the work done and let the office know, expecting something in a couple weeks. We got a call from Ryan a few days later offering to move up the schedule to the coming weekend for a small discount. We could accommodate that, so we said yes and they scheduled work for the coming Saturday morning. We expected a start time in the 8-9 range, but when no one had showed up by almost 10, we called the office. They said that the person was running late. When Nate arrived, he looked at the meter and checked for a street shut-off valve. There wasn't one, so he had to go back and pick up a pipe freezer. He came back and got to work. He was also very professional and kind enough to let our 4-year-old daughter sit outside and watch him work (and answer some random questions). The job took 1-2 hours (a good part of which was waiting for the pipe to freeze) and the results looked very good after completion. We would definitely recommend them for this kind of work to anyone."

"I had a toilet installed by a handyman. I was not satisfied with the results and called Jeff for help in rebalancing it. He did a great job and I was totally satisfied with Jeff's work. I have called on Pipe Dreams before and they are always courteous and respond quickly. Their price is always fair and I would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"Nick does excellent work  is VERY reliable and reasonably priced and trustworthy. <br /> I had plumbing challenges that were building up over the course of a couple of weeks and hit "crisis mode" a couple of days ago. <br /> I called Nick and not only was the quote he provided reasonable, he was able to fit me into his schedule, and got everything fixed at my house today. <br /> Nick also helped me out with what could have been a major issue at a house that I was selling several months ago.  He was able to do the repairs without having to replace the equipment. <br /> I will never use another plumber and will have him replace & maintain my HVAC when necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Great job by these guys! They dug a large trench to get to the sewer line and took care not to destroy our back yard. The trench was about 6 feet deep and at least 40 feet long, so there was a lot of dirt. They removed the old (improperly installed, but not by them) sewer line, fixed the grading/slope problem, and replaced the line with higher quality pipe. Once inspected, they back filled the dirt. No problems since! It was an expensive job, but we were able to negotiate on price. Their final cost was more than $3,000 less than a quote we received from one of their competitors."

"Once he examined the pipe he informed me that trying to change a pipe that far gone could result in the pipe breaking. If that were to happen I would have to replace my whole water heater. Having just bought the home two weeks ago I don't have the money in my budget for a new water heater. He suggested that I let it ride for now and start saving up in the meantime. I very much appreciated Bobs time and honesty. I would highly recommend anyone dealing with plumbing problems to contact Indy Jones Plumbing. Thanks Bob! <br />"

"Things went very well.  Initially was going to get a new heat pump.  Clay gave me three options (good, better, best) to choose from.  After getting proposal, I decided to ask for estimates for a gas furnace/air conditioner system, which is an upgrade since the house never had gas furnace.  Again given three options, and I chose the middle option.  New air conditioner is working beautifully.  Installation quality is far superior to that of system originally installed in house in 1998 when built. <br />"

"They are truly service without the gimmicks!!!  Mark was the plumbers name.  He was extremely professional and polite.  He explained everything that was wrong in understandable terms.  We had a broken flange in our half bath downstairs that we found in our process of renovating the restroom.  He had to remove the tee in the basement and install a new flange, reset toilet with new bolts and wax rings.  They provide a 1yr warranty, which gives me peace of mind of the quality provided.  Extremely helpful, I asked him questions about concerns about my other two restrooms, he explained the noise. Turns out the sound we hear is due to pipes in the wall not properly tied down.  A noise we will be ok with.  I also learned from him not to use those tablets in the tank because they deteriorate the rings! The knowledge he shared is much appreciated!  He performed his work in a very clean way.  I don't even know if he made a mess because he even cleaned up some paint smears I had accidently made...so he left my bathroom floor cleaner then he found it!  I'm jubilant with the service provided, and the quality was excellent! Thank you for your service.  If I need a plumber in the future, I know I will call them! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Columbus, IN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
