"The first inspector I called quoted $2000 to do a lead inspection I got disappointed When True North quoted $75, I thought I heard wrong I paid the invoice and they did the inspection on the weekend The service is fabulous and I highly recommend them for your inspection needs They went above and beyond what was required and gave additional advice on my rental property which I will incorporate into my remodel plan They provided old fashion service with an old fashion price Unbelievably good"

Small jobs welcome

"We needed an inspection for asbestos and any dangerous material in NH for 2 summer houses built 1940"s. Gina at GMS Home Inspections was quick to return our call and appointment was within days. She showed up prompt and called to confirm. The services was complete with samples taken and tested. We are very pleased with her work and have the needed paper work for NH building codes. I would recommend her in the future she is pleasant and professional."

"I was impressed right from the start with Eurinson and his team. He was very responsive and prompt to come to my house to provide an estimate. He was extremely prompt and helpful in replying to questions that I'd had post-estimate. On the day of work, He and his team arrived on time, a bit early which is great! They quickly went to work using extreme care in my home. They were helpful in taking care of a few last minute preparations on my behalf. They worked quickly and efficiently completing the work on the same day. My rooms were clean and free of asbestos upon completion. They did not leave until I had taken the time to check everything out. I am very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again."

"Vendor was able to complete and interior framing project in record time and was able to do a patch work job on an area of my roof that had been damage by a falling tree. This was completed in a 24 hour period. While on site, I requested advice on future siding work that needs to be done later this Spring. Vendor was very helpful and I will be using them to do the work required."

"I have worked with several contractors over the years and Anderson was by far the best. Firstly, he is *extremely* responsive. He almost always answers the phone and if he can't he'll call you right back. For projects that last months when lots of questions and issues come up, it is *invaluable* to be able to get your contractor on the line quickly rather than having to wait hours if not days to connect with them (as has happened to me with past contractors).

Moreover, when any problems arose Anderson would always address them and make sure they got fixed. Other contractors I've worked with have tried to spin their way out of responsibility, but Anderson would always take responsibility for any issues that came up under his watch and work to get them resolved as quickly as possible. In short, on the customer service front, he is second to none.

The quality of the work was also excellent. Our kitchen looks sparkling and amazing, and the shower that was fixed and remodeled looks super. There were a few tiles that cracked due to house settling that had nothing to do with his work, and Anderson fixed them at no extra charge (he could have said he was not responsible and charged me). The original floor of the kitchen was all crooked (again due to settling) and Anderson did a terrific job straightening the floor so it finally looks normal.

Finally, Anderson is also a certified mold remediation specialist and eradicated a major mold problem in the kitchen walls prior to the renovation. It was extremely valuable to have him be able to do both the remediation and the renovation, rather than having to coordinate multiple parties, not to mention the cost savings by not having to hire a whole new company for the remediation.
In summary, if you want to work with a contractor who does suburb work, is extremely responsive, and always puts the needs of his clients first, I would strongly recommend hiring Five Star Remodeling."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Concord, NH

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
