"I had 2 floods in basement because of a plug in the main city line every time they came out and unplugged it the water would stopped. I decided enough was enough so I came to Angie's list and this company came right out gave me a estimate and explained how it worked. I went with this company they were professional and clean up came back to cut the pipe down to level of ground in a month or so for dirt to settle. <br />"

"He checked pressure both inside an outside the house and determined we had appropriate pressure everywhere...the problem was with just the kitchen sink faucet installation (my own, self-inflicted installation). He tried to fix it, but the connecting hose was twisted and pinched so there was nothing further he could do. I bought and correctly installed a new faucet and now all is great."

"The call was to unclog an extremely slow drain in the tub.  After working on the pipe for some time,  TJ from Blands said the pipes to the sewer needed to be replaced.  In the basement the original drain for the bathtub and toliet looked like something from Fibber McGee's closet.  In order to bring the entire area up to code it was suggested the drain pipes for both the tub and toliet be replaced.  IT is now a thing of beauty, they also put in a thingee so if I need to replace the pipes in the sink the fitting is already there.  They did a great job and totally cleaned up after themselves.  I am very pleased with the work and have already recommended them to a friend. Also, I got a 10% new customer discount! <br />"

"All they were interested in was selling new a furnace and air conditioner. ?They put in the wrong Freon.? They overcharged the unit and it leaked out all over. The system kept shutting down.? ?Another company came out and said everything was fine but it was because of the wrong Freon.? We had previously used them for 10 years. ?The technician that was good has retired. They read my review and refunded my money and apologized for everything."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Cottage Hills, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
