"Rigo was fantastic. His price was perfect, he was in and out in two days, and he had a very clear idea of what needed to be completely replaced, and what could just be repaired. That helped with both cost and time. He was able to replace bricks in a way that unified the front, and gave us the curb appeal we had been lacking for years. I look forward to relying on International Brick & Concrete again in the future for my concrete and masonry needs."

"The crew was very experienced and was able to perfectly match the brick on our house, which was built in 1978. They kept us fully informed of progress and ensured that the work area was left spotless. We recommend them highly."

"My life was "****" before Wall to Wall was hired to clean up a mess from a previous contractor on our family home. After receiving a Stop Work Order from the city, I had to find a general contractor immediately. I researched and communicated with several companies on Angie's List, and Wall to Wall was the one company that understood my issues and showed the interest to help me resolve them. They were not pushy or overbearing. They listened to me as I told them what I needed to happen and when. The other factor in this scenario is all transactions occurred long distance. Angel Tuesta was patient, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable; we had long and frequent conversations by phone. We talked about what needed to occur in stages. When we began the work on the addition (which prompted the SWO), his team was professional; they knew their job. The workmen were respectful of my property; work materials were organized and the property was kept as clean as possible. I received videos as the work progressed. They communicated with city inspectors and all work passed the multiple inspections (Halleluiah!!). As the work on the addition neared the end, I hired them to complete the work on remodeling the kitchen and main bath. I also had them remove decades old carpeting in the house and replace with beautiful hard wood floors, remove old wall paneling and strip and paint several rooms. The bathroom was enlarged, a bedroom was reconfigured, other bedrooms were painted with new flooring. When I visited the property, the kitchen and bath were totally transformed from an old 1950s look to contemporary styling; the bedrooms were bright. The high grade quality products (cabinets, granite countertops, flooring) installed by Wall to Wall were impeccable. One of the factors that impressed me so much with Wall to Wall is whatever needed to be done - electrical, plumbing, iron work,- Angel has the workmen to do the job in a timely manner. I never had to worry about having to find a workman to do anything special. Wall to Wall could handle my requests. We were able to accomplish all of this work a little less than one year. As I have repeatedly stated to Angel, I expect we will have a long relationship. I have other projects that are planned for the future (new patio, additional floor work, remodel basement). I will continue to work with the company because they are professional, reliable, produce quality work at a price that reflects the quality received. From my perspective, they do not deserve a grade of "A", they deserve a grade of "A+++" in all areas. Gracias, Angel !!"

"I had a few sections of a brick wall that was shared between townhouses (both in the front and the back) that were worn to the point that my HOA had written it up as a finding in my home sales disclosure documents. I called up Richard and told him about the need to get all of the work as soon as possible. He was able to come out the next day, provided me a quote that night and was able to start work the following Monday. The previous owner had a similar process done on the other wall prior to me moving in, the brick that was put into that wall was not even close to a matching color and it had annoyed me for years. Richard, with just a look was able to match the brick and mortar so perfectly that I honestly cannot tell that there were repairs made to the wall (well obviously there are no more broken bricks and holes). Richard did a great job and I highly recommend him and will use him again for any future brick work. <br />"

"<p>Brian did a great job working with us.  Trying to get estimates on this job wasn't easy when I was exchanging emails back and forth, but Brian immediately decided the best way to do this was to actually stop by and take a look and discuss it with us.  Also his estimate for the work was more realistic than some of the other ones I was getting.  Some were so high that I had to believe they didn't understand the nature of the job, even though they got the same emails and pictures that Brian received.  I only needed about 5-10 bricks replaced and I was getting estimates in the thousands of dollars.  This is why I appreciated Brian's willingness to actually come by the house and see the job firsthand.</p> <p>Also he directed us to a couple of brickyards to look for matching bricks.  The one we liked best was </p> <p>Potomac Valley Brick & Supply in Newington.  The guys there were wonderful, both in the office and out in the yard.</p> <p>Finally, Brian and Larry showed up promptly to do the work and it looks great.  We couldn't find an exact match with our old bricks (30 years old), but we got close and Brian installed them like they were always there.  They did get the mortar to match.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>I'd have them do any work I might have in the future because they were totally professional and really easy to work with.</p> <br />"

"We had known for some time that we needed a mold remediation, but due to the pandemic and uncertainty about in person vs. virtual learning for our kids, it was tough to figure out when to do it. The need became more pronounced when my husband, who has asthma, had to start sleeping in another part of the house because the mold was affecting him so much. The team at Valor kindly worked us into their schedule to perform the remediation the week between our oldest son's summer schooling ended and his fall school term began. (He's autistic and major changes to his schedule/environment can be quite disruptive for him.) Since our only bathroom was part of the containment area, we went to visit family out of state while the remediation was happening. Teddy, Milton, and the rest of the team kept us informed every step of the way with numerous calls, texts, and photos. In the middle of the week, we received word that the demolition required would be much more extensive than we had originally anticipated because there were three different sources of water damage--water heater leak, roof leaks, and improperly fitted/sealed 'Bath Fitter' tile in the bathroom. The team ended up removing the ceilings in all four rooms (including, for safety reasons, the entire contents of our attic!) and most of the insulation and drywall from the exterior walls, not to mention all the faulty tub tiling. As a result, the job took a week longer than expected, but the team met the challenge without sugarcoating or compromise. By the end of the process, our bedrooms and bathroom passed the Instascope mold test with flying colors, and the contractors that we brought in to provide restoration estimates actually commented on how excellent and thorough Valor's work was, right down to the final cleanup. In sum, "Open Book Honesty" and "Utterly Obsessive Cleanup" are not just taglines for the team at Valor Mold. These folks practice what they preach, and we would recommend them to anyone who wants the job done right the first time, period."

"Our house in northern Virginia (Chantilly) needed an upgrade to our powder room and master bathroom after 25 years since we moved here. We found a number of recommended contractors via Angie’s List and had some of the contractors visit to survey and give us estimates. We selected FTB Tile and Marble form Woodbridge, Virginia and we are very pleased that we did. The owner of FTB, Frank, conducted the surveys himself, and communicated ideas, options, process and schedule, then sent designs and price quotes for both bathrooms. The professionalism, honesty and competence shown by Frank during the survey, and the detailed statements of work and clarity and reasonableness of projected costs caused us to select FTB over other contractors. We proceeded with the Powder Room first to see how FTB would perform before we signed a contract for the larger and significantly more complex renovation of the master bathroom. After meeting with FTB’s recommended designers and selecting tile, vanity, toilet and fixtures, Frank adjusted the details and costs to match our selections, and all within our budget. The renovation of the powder room was completed in 9 days and involved demolition and then installation of new floor tile, toilet, vanity, lights, mirrors, fan, plumbing, electrical and fixtures, as well painting walls, ceiling, door and trim. A project manager was assigned, and the installers, Walter, who has worked for the company for 17 years, and Alfred, were amazing – professional, competent, responsive and pleasant. They worked tirelessly every day and always kept the premises clean. The outcome was a beautiful, new powder room which gave us compete confidence to proceed with FTB to renovate the master bathroom. The process was repeated – updated survey by Frank, meeting with the design consultants, updating the scope of work for the selections we made – again within our budget – ordering and delivery of materials, demolition and renovation. We were fortunate to have Walter and Alfred return to do the bulk of the work which was complete under schedule in 5 weeks with the exception of the shower glass which was purposely scheduled a week later to ensure accurate measurements and fit. This project involved enlarging the bathroom, including the shower and installation of a new stand-alone tub, and required demolition of a wall and installation of a new wall, and relocation of plumbing and electrical, painting, etc. In the middle of the renovation, the pandemic began to hit and FTB team took great pains to keep isolated from us while communicating effectively from a distance to complete the project. The end-result was an absolutely gorgeous bathroom. We highly recommend FTB Tile and Marble."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Dale City, VA

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
