"Our AC unit started to fail last summer and we contacted Anderson Mechanical. Mike came out to try and fix the problem, but with the age of our old unit we need to completely replace it. At the time we also requested estimates to replace our oil furnace and upgrade to a gas furnace. We quickly received a detailed estimate that provided with will all our options. Mike and Tyler were very knowledgeable and explained every detail of what they were doing and why. Once installation was completed, Tyler stayed behind and explain the new unit, how to complete rebates, and what information to use for taxes. I highly recommend Anderson Mechanical!!"

"Jon and Billy were professional and hard working. Jon had to come back another day to make a minor adjustment. I am not a plumber, but I know this was NOT an easy job. I have used BF in the past, Charlie is another excellent technician. I would recommend these guys for any plumbing needs. When Jon was here to give me an estimate, he noted that the exhaust hood on my hot water heater was not in correct placement and he quickly adjusted it."

"Had new bathroom vanity top installed with new faucet and plumbing.Used a handyman recommended by a friend. The plumbing leaked and he came back 3 times without being able to fix the problem. I called Benscoter's plumbing. Jerry came out within 30 minutes knew exactly what the problem was Went to get the part needed Installed it and even cleaned the drain which was not done by previous person. Jerry was professional and did the job in a timely manner. I would use Benscoter's plumbing again"

"First, the price quoted on the phone to us the day before service was not the price we had to pay after the water heater was installed. It was $200. MORE. Then, 2 days after installation, we noticed water on the basement floor around the base of the heater. We called, someone came out the next day and said the new piping was incorrectly installed. He fixed it (hopefully). This expensive water heater also makes a louder, rattling noise when it is heating up water, compared to our older model, the same brand, Bradford White. We can only hope this water heater lasts."

"Shortly after moving in to our new home it became obvious that none of the toilets in our home flushed properly.  George Fitzpatrick has been doing our plumbing work for twenty years, or more.  It was time to call him in for a diagnosis.   <br /> As I suspected, the original toilets were installed at a point in time when "low flow" toilets were required but before the industry had perfected the technology.  We were provided with a range of options from doing nothing to the purchase and installation of very expensive fixtures.  Doing nothing did not appear to be a viable option; we were discouraged from buying toilets that were high priced.  George recommended several products that were high in quality and modestly priced.   We made our choice and the installation took place immediately. <br /> The work for this project was actually done by George's son, Corey.  Corey is the fourth generation of the family to engage in the plumbing business.  Like his father, Corey works efficiently, carefully, and takes great pride in his workmanship. <br /> The new toilets flush as they should.  The project was done well and at a very reasonable price. <br /> Over the years I have learned that I can trust George Fitzpatrick to provide good advice and excellent service. <br /> <br />"

"They had been out like ten days before, and the issue expanded. I paid eight hundred dollars two weeks before, did not get me anywhere with the five thousand dollar repair. Just disappointed that the inspection and work which was done within an month prior, did not capture the problem. It ended up being so expensive for that visit."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Duncannon, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
