"Sean was great. He understood my problem of vinyl siding damage from window reflection and came to evaluate the situation immediately. He provided a reasonable price, and when the materials needed to be ordered he kept me up to date on their arrival. Once the materials arrived, the siding was installed the next day. The job was completed in one day along with clean-up! Sean is extremely professional, and I highly recommend Odyssey for any Contracting services."

"We are totally pleased. Mr. Garland Davis and his two man team are highly skilled. They also seem to be of the highest character and extremely pleasant. They removed the bricks and concrete that had been damaged by a large tree that had been located too close and whose growth cracked the concrete and the upper part of the brick wall along side of the steps leading to the basement. The damaged brick work and concrete slab on top were replaced with excellent brick masonry. The guard rail beside the back porch was replaced with concrete cinder blocks topped by bricks. There was also patching of a concrete slab required. Their work is extremely attractive, and it appears to be of the highest quality while being done at a very reasonable cost. The total cost was $1450. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have utilized their services."

"I would highly recommend Aluminum Company of NC. Several years ago, we had a large window replaced over the front door entry way. This year we noticed the window was smokey, called them up and sent a photo, window replaced no questions! They stand behind their lifetime warranty! After such great customer service, we just had all 19 windows replaced in our house. I would rate their customer service and installation team a 10! Showed up on time every day, cleaned away debris, and provided instructions on cleaning and care. Aluminum Company of NC thank you for great service. We love your new windows! R. Mangum"

"Great! Lane's Contracting kept me informed of any changes on my schedule date, they also let me know prior to my materials arriving. Was able to have the roof removed and installed in 1.5 days! Awesome work! Also, had a window installed and Gerardo was excellent to work with . I would definitely refer all of my friends and family to Lane's Contracting for any roofing, siding or window projects!"

"We replaced a 10+ year old deck that was deteriorating with a stone patio.  Once the deck tear-down was complete, we found wood rot on the house  that had to be repaired before the job could continue.  Paul Bronson and his crew were able to expertly repair the damaged wood in a timely manner and continue with the patio build.  We found Paul's design for the patio to be outstanding.  We found his crew's execution of his design to be exact and very professional.  His prep crew and his stone masons did an excellent job and finished the job on time even though we had several days of rain. <br /> We ended up with a gorgeous patio which far exceeded our expectations at a very reasonable price.  We would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work. <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Durham, NC

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
