We recently purchased a 2nd home on Lake James with an exterior that is 100% cedar.  The exterior was in serious need of cleaning and re-staining.  It had not been maintained; and, had a significant amount of mold staining and several areas of the trim had the original finish peeling off.

We contracted with Mike and Crystal to prep and re-stain the exterior of our home.  Throughout the process, Mike demonstrated thoroughness, competency and responsibility.  Mike and Crystal took personal responsibility to ensure they delivered a quality product.  Mike kept his commitments and did not compromise his work product even when faced with the stripping process taking more time than he expected.  He completed the project per the schedule he committed.

Mike demonstrated a high attention to detail in the finishing process and ensured the project was completed to my satisfaction.  The home looks beautiful...we could not be happier.

I solicited bids from several paint contractors and evaluated several before selecting Mike.  His pricing was very competitive versus several other contractors; but, I never observed where Mike cut corners.

I would definitely recommend MIke's Painting and will plan to use Mike again when we have painting needs.

"Russell Holsenback of R.H. Builders, LLC and his associate, Jose Reyes, just completed a screen porch replacement and replacement deck at our home. Their workmanship is excellent and we are extremely pleased with the resulting changes. They also built a drainage and outflow system effectively eliminating a water runoff issue away from the house to the outer yard. They are pleasant individuals who make a dynamic duo with their skillset, experience, knowledge, and expertise. Russell’s experience in his craft is extensive and is reflected in the first cut of wood, the first screw placed, and the first nail pounded. He listens well, makes sound suggestions, and is amenable to design/build changes. His skillset has been honed through the years by sheer practical participation and encountering events in his trade. "This was NOT a satisfactory exp. Would not hire again. Hired for handy work thru Angi: Install lighting fixtures, faucets, leak in toilet assembly (though was flushing), installing outdoor solar lites, rescreening patio, seal leak in patio roof, garage repair etc. Day one no show. Day 2, staff arrived without supplies or incorrect supplies & spent 1/2 day at Home Depot. Not completed per our contract: garage was rendered 100% inoperable by an attempt to repair a smaller problem (he caused bolts dislodged from main track from testing & left unrepaired). Porch leak not repaired left with a bigger leak. 2 blown electrical outlets. Faucet installed with hot & cold reversed. fans & lites not wired properly leaving dead outlets/switches. Toilet unflushable strong enough. Screws, bolts, wires, stuck in rugs & floor. After firing them & attempting to resolve $ off with the owner on my own b/c I had to hire replacement contractor(s) After my initial phone call to list all the problems hours after he left he agreed to refund some of my payment. Thereafter Robert was unresponsive so had to file a formal complaint with Angi. Ultimately owner did refund 1/3 of the it cost me to fix work/damage. (I supplied emails, texts etc to prove the unresolved work to Angi) CHECK ALL reviews on Google, Nextdoor, BBB etc as there are other local dissatified customers despite the favorable reviews on Angi 3 star because his STAFF was on time, respectful and did the best with other repairs. I did tip the staff generously but before I was able to assess the damage costs with other contractors. I paid other contractors for full repair satisfaction."
