"Fantastic service. This is the second time we've hired R & G Water Systems. Both times we had an issue in the middle of the night and they were able to send someone out first thing in the morning. They replaced our well pump the same day (within a few hours of calling actually). This went as smoothly as the first time we hired them and would definitely continue to use them."

"Always communicated when to expect technician/crew including names and photos. Wayne and crew provided excellent service. We had a trench installed to move the sump pump discharge away from the house."

"I called Pohlman to replace my Gas water heater. I was very pleased with their service. They were very professional, came out on the same day, took the old tank with them and cleaned up well behind themselves, They finish the job in a timely manner and their price was fair. I would definitely hire them again."

"My well pump pressure tank needed service and I called Friday and Barbara was very professional and eager to help. She took the time to understand the issue and even reviewed the pictures. Barbara is very passionate about her job. She was able to schedule for Saturday. Dave came out. He called to let me know that he was on his way and let me know when he will arrive. He was very punctual, professional, friendly, and down to business. Totally impressed with the way he solved the problem and made sure that answered all of my questions. This company is very ethical and I would recommend them to anyone."

"I highly recommend Phelps Water Company! If you are looking for the BEST water company in the area, then you found it! Everyone we have dealt with at Phelps Water Company is professional, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive. This incredible company responds quickly when there is a water emergency, installs high quality equipment at a fair price, and stands behind their work. What more could anyone ask for? Within the last year, we have had Phelps Water Company perform work at our house three times, and two of those were due to a no-water situation. With a family of five, no water constitutes an emergency for sure, and Phelps responded by prioritizing our work; they had our water running again in no time! Most recently, I discovered we had no running water last week; I left a voice mail on their non-emergency phone number at about midnight explaining what was going on. At 6:15 am, they called me back to let me know that they had prioritized our job and a team would be at my house between 8:00 and 10:00 that morning. The technicians who showed up were personable, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. They were great guys! They had already looked up what equipment was installed in my house, realized that the well pump was 20 years old, and were completely prepared with to replace the pump when they arrived. Some quick troubleshooting led to the conclusion that the pump had finally quit, and they had a new, high quality pump installed in no time. Letâ s face it, customer service is a lost art in our digital age, and it is rare to find a company that is so focused on its customers while it provides high quality equipment, installed by remarkably talented technicians, all at a fair price. Phelps Water is one of those companies! It is good to know that they are only a phone call away, and I will only use Phelps Water Company for any future work that we need. Call Phelps Water Company, and I am fully confident that you will have a great experience!"

"One unit was fine. The heat pump unit needs some new parts as it is 11 years old and sitsc in the roof under the southern sun and is just getting worn down. So Rob from Sila recommended the parts that need replacing. Very good company that I have used for that to perform these twice yearly checkups. Highly recommended."

"The owner came answered my call and asked the right questions. He set up a time and communicated during the day to let me know he would be earlier and wanted know if that was ok. He checked out everything and gave me a price before he started. He was very efficient in his work and solved the problem. I would highly recommend his services."

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Edgewater, MD

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
