"Mainline was the only business that replied although there were several listed from Home Advisor. They came the same day I asked about getting it done and completed removing the old water heater and installed the new one within hours! I could have waited to see if the parts I needed could be sourced but since the heater was 14 years old I opted to install a new one. Could not see possibly paying half the cost of a new one for service and parts and then maybe waiting for it to be completed only to have it need service or replacement a couple years down the road."

"I called Discount Plumbing because they've done a number of repair jobs over the years for me, my brother and my father. They do the job right, and show up on time, and have always given me a straight answer about what my best options are. One job was especially difficult, replacing a galvanized sewer pipe running all the way across the house to the main in the dead of winter when it had leaked enough from several points that the crawl space was muddy and stinky. I will call them first the next time too."

"Fast, friendly. Took time to explain details in a way I could understand. Little frustrated that the final price was higher than quoted on phone, even though I fully explained that I do not have consumer side sewer cleanout."

"E&G Plumming did a great job of repairing the leaky pipes in my upstairs bathroom. They also uninstalled and installed new toilets. They cleaned up prior to leaving were a very caring crew. Excellent work guys. Would definitely use their services again. Thank you."

"E Mays Plumbing was prompt to respond to my inquiries & came within 24 hours on both occasions I requested services. During the first visit, Mr. Mays showed me how to fix the problem with the water heater in order to save me money (rather than replacing the part or the entire water heater.) After a few weeks, I decided I wanted to replace the entire unit. Mr. Mays came to my home that same day & efficiently installed the new unit & hauled away the old one. He was very professional & even asked permission to pull into my garage in order to load the old water heater onto his truck. I will definitely call E Mays Plumbing for any future plumbing needs!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Empire, CA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
