"Our AC unit started to fail last summer and we contacted Anderson Mechanical. Mike came out to try and fix the problem, but with the age of our old unit we need to completely replace it. At the time we also requested estimates to replace our oil furnace and upgrade to a gas furnace. We quickly received a detailed estimate that provided with will all our options. Mike and Tyler were very knowledgeable and explained every detail of what they were doing and why. Once installation was completed, Tyler stayed behind and explain the new unit, how to complete rebates, and what information to use for taxes. I highly recommend Anderson Mechanical!!"

"Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Ben and to his company for the excellent job done. <br /> My kitchen drain gave me headache since I bought the house about 10 years ago. Early this month, the drain completely stopped. Having just joined Angies List, I found Alexander Plumbing Service one of the 4 Super Service Reward winners. So I called this company, explained my situation and my hope for a thorough solution. They sent Ben who did gave me a very thorough solution by replacing the clogged pipe in my basement. I was very much impressed by Ben's professionalism. I am an old man. It gives me peace of mind to know that I have Alexander to turn to for help if I have plumbing problems down the road. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My fiance and I just bought our house and we had a number of small repairs to be made, and a hot water flow issue which was a bigger deal since we had a lot of family coming over the second weekend we owned the home. Dave came out and looked over out winter/summer system and thought it was best to direct our water pipes directly to our hot water heater - bypassing the oil boiler to reduce the oil bill. He looked around the house at a few other things I wouldn't have thought of and sent me quotes a few hours later for everything we talked about. We decided what we wanted to have done and he said someone else would be in touch for scheduling. <br /> Come Tuesday of the next week - the week just before our family was coming - we still hadn't been called about scheduling. I called and explained that I needed the hot water issue to be fixed as soon as possible and that the other things could wait. They were very apologetic about the lack of communication and were able to fit us in that Friday. The guy who came over was very nice and professional and was able to do all of the repairs we had requested within a few hours for the exact price we had been quoted. <br /> Despite the scheduling issue, I would absolutely recommend them and use them again in the future! <br />"

"Luckily I was able to get bumped up to an earlier time for my plumbing issue the technician arrived three hours early which was great because I could still get to work. Jeff was very professional and courteous as well as knowledgeable. He fixed my leaking issue in an hour and the cost was very reasonable. I will hire them again."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ephrata, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
