"Bert returned my call within a few hours. We scheduled a time for him to come, but when it rained he promptly called and rescheduled. He was on time, professional, polite and had the job completed to my satisfaction. <br />"

"Because I never heard back from Plyler or the door manufacturer's rep, I installed a steel support across the base of the door, and that helped with the flexing and splitting of the metal sheathing. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the whole happening."

"I would definitely use them again! <br /> - Bidding went well and was promptly done, and quite a bit less than other bids received <br /> - I made a minor addition and so had to have the bid updated.  It took a couple calls to get the updates and I ended up going to the business to pick it up. (That is why I rated them a 'B' for 'responsiveness' and 'punctuality') <br /> - Install was delayed past time on quote partially because of weather <br /> - At install time, one panel should have had windows, but did not, resulting in a re-order of one panel. This was said to be Wayne Dalton's error. <br /> - Took many weeks for the new panel to be installed (That is why I rated them a 'B' for 'responsiveness' and 'punctuality') <br /> <ul> <li></li> </ul> <br />"

"Overall the experience was very positive. The company was able to make the service call within a couple days. They offered an excellent discount on their website, and the resulting price was reasonable. The serviceman was very professional and personable. There was no attempt to recommend unnecessary services. The garage door opener now performs better than when it was first installed."

"<p>I contacted B. Davis Enterprises to renovate an outbuilding on my property. The second floor of the building was structurally sound but the first floor dilapidated and in need of removal. Brent Davis responded to my call the same day, came out that evening to survey the task, and appeared the next day with an estimate for the job. I agreed and work on the building was initiated within another day. </p> <p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p> <p> Brent?s plan was to support the structurally sound second floor then use a crane to lower it to ground level after demolition and removal of the dilapidated first floor. The lowered second floor would then serve as basis for a one-story building to be outfitted with siding of hemlock board, windows, and ramp and door wide enough to admit my lawn care equipment. Shelving and a pull-down ladder to a loft area would be installed. Finally, an area to store firewood open on the sides but covered by a roof would be attached at the rear of the building.</p> <p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p> <p>A work crew of six to eight members worked on the building all day from early in the morning to early in the evening for a week. Brent was on site frequently to supervise or perform work himself. My suggestions were solicited and I was invited to watch the work in progress.</p> <p> </p> <p>I was very pleased when the project was completed. The building appears as if it were newly constructed. The carpentry work is of high quality. I believe the agreed price was reasonable and fair. I definitely plan to contact B. Davis Enterprises in future when I have work to be done.</p> <p> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </p> <p> </p> <br />"

"He did an outstanding job replacing the brick  because the house is approaching 40 years old we couldn't find matching brick. They cleaned off and reused and did beautiful job.  I love the design he helped me come up with for the bay window and area under neath it.  I'm extremely happy with it and that's why he's going to do more work for us over the winter."

"They started in November but after that they couldn't do too much more so it finished up in the spring and probably by May I could use the garage.  They just came in at different times and plus I added a few things as we went along so it was more expensive than the original bid.  They were a pretty good crew.  I liked them.  I had them do some work on the house too and they just finished that up a week or two ago.  They were a very good crew to deal with and also the owner was a very good person to deal with.  There were no problems at all.  They were very easy going and if I wanted to make some changes, they incorporated with me.  If they found some problem while they were on it, even if it was my fault, they'll handle it and get it straightened out.  I made a mistake on the height of the garage doors and they had already started building it to his specifications but he went ahead and changed it over to my new specifications without any problems.  They were very good to deal with.  The quality of workmanship was excellent.  I never even found anything wrong at all and in fact it was very good.  They were available and I was satisfied with the price too because I wanted so many things added on, that it didn't come out to the original price obviously.  They did the additions exactly the way I wanted them to do and their price was very good.  They did a good job with the quality and they even put in a few extra things that they didn't have to.  I looked around very carefully for any mistakes they might have made because he said he will guarantee his work for two years but I haven't found any.  He just did a very good job.  He had jobs in other areas and I understand that so he couldn't always get to this project at the ideal time but I know that's the way they work because I used to work with a contractor.  I think he did his best he could to get out here on time with his others projects too.  They were here in morning at the right time and they went right to work.  They didn't play around or nothing like that, they just went right to work.  They were a very good crew.  I thought they were very professional.  I can't tell anything wrong that I would say was unprofessional.  As a matter of fact I had them come back to do some work on the house.  He really didn't want to take the job on but I asked him again and he agreed to come out and do it."

"He came when he said he would. Worked all day . Next day he returned after the cement had set. I was at work. We had a misunderstanding and by the time I got home from work he had half the wall up but it was the wrong stone that I wanted. He was very good about it. He took down the wall and replaced it with the one I wanted. It took him two days longer than expected but he did a good job and I would truly use him again. <br />"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Erie, PA

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
