"He walked in and immediately spotted the problem and the cause (a broom had fallen and gotten caught in the cable). He fixed door quickly and the door has worked well ever since. We rearranged the stuff stored in the garage to avoid a repeat of the problem."

"Worked with John Pruitt. This perticular garage door had quite a few configurations. John was very helpful in getting me the information I needed to finalize the decision. The door was made on time, delivered on time, installed very professionally on time, at exactly the quoted price. The door looks great and operates well. Hard to ask for more."

"<p>JC Unger responded quickly and went out to look at the damage. He began to secure the building as soon as we had completed the required paperwork, which we did via email in order to speed things up because of my safety concerns. He had the power off and the building secured in a few days. The tenants were then able to take advantage of a dry weekend and move their vehicles and belongings out and away from the barn. JC then went to work cutting the branches off the tree and demolishing the structure. He did this in a remarkable fast time, considering that the weather had deteriorated again, and the barn was at the bottom of a steep and muddy hill. One discovery he made during the demolition was that a previous owner had tapped into the 220 line that ran to the well pump and had improvised wiring to the barn. The conduit he used was a garden hose. JC was able to track this unexpected electrical wiring back to the circuit breakers on the pole, and disconnect it. Unfortunately, the circuit breakers were not well installed nor new, so the power to the well pump decreased, which caused it to stop working. This all happened at the end of a long day, but JC did not clock out and go home for the night. He took the time to drop off his worker and went and got a replacement circuit breaker. He then went back out to the farm and in the dark he installed the new breaker so that the tenants would have the water they needed (with two teenagers in the house, they did need the water running). This selfless action was a step above and beyond in my opinion, and why I so highly recommend JC Unger. Like I said previously, he could have just called it a night and headed home, but he took the time to take care of another person's need.</p> The rest of the demolition went smoothly with no more surprises and was done quickly. I will be hiring JC Unger again as soon as the ground dries out a bit. I want him to build the replacement building and to grade and gravel the drive. <br /> If you need someone who does a good job and is conscientious, then I highly recommend Unger Construction. You won't find any better! <br />"

"The first man who came ( another service) was also the original installer. He had no clue how to fix it, nor did he do much beyond grease the lifting device. After he left, I was 100 dollars poorer with a still broken garage door. Andy came diagnosed the problem, tried a make shift fix ( to save me money) but when it didn't work, replaced the opener and guaranteed his work. The work was done professionally, throughly and quickly. I appreciate that he returned my call ( another on your list didn't) and I will certainly use him again if the need arises. <br />"

"Scheduling the job was the only problem, because Sears Garage Solutions schedules service to the Eugene/Springfield area on Wednesdays only. Once the technician arrived (exactly as scheduled) my opener's problems were quickly diagnosed, and repairs were made. I had thought I would need an entirely new opener, the technician assured me that a few new parts would do. The technician agreed with my assessment that installing new door springs would be prudent, (they were showing some slackening) and they were done at the same time. I liked the extra step of putting a safety cable down the length of the new springs designed to catch fragments in the unlikely event that the spring would fracture some long time into the future. I thought the price was fair, but have not compared Sears with other services."

"Arrive right on tome and between Brian, the owner, and Shane, they spent about 9 man hours working very meticulously. The grout was very dirty and stained, and when they finished, it looked better than when it was first installed. These folks are really good."

"lyness fixed a bed frame that was in need of repair. he also replaced the cartridge in the bathroom water faucet that was leaking. his estimate for time was correct for billing. he had to actually leave to buy the proper cartridge but returned very quickly. he completed both jobs expeditiously & i would most certainly recommend him to friends & neighbors & call him again in the future. it's very difficult finding a handyman willing to do "odd" jobs anymore -- jobs that don't require thousands of dollars & days of work. my favorite handyman certainly fits the bill as an all around reputable handyman. <br>"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Eugene, OR

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
