"Dennis has a tremendous work ethic and does great work. He is friendly, professional, prompt and really good at his craft. I initially hired Dennis for wallpaper removal and was so impressed that I hired him to paint my foyer, dining room, stairwell, kitchen and breakfast nook. He even hung new light fixtures when ceiling work was done. I highly recommend Dennis."

"Tony was professional and punctual. He asked me what I was hoping to spend and worked with me on the price. I asked him to do some extra work apart from my project and he did that in the time alloted as well, and for a reasonable price. (In fact, he offered the best price around). He met me on my schedule everytime and took care of everything, right down to a perfect clean-up, well under the time limit that I had. If I have any paint jobs in the future, I will call Tony first thing. Thanks Tony, it looks wonderful!!"

"Juery is very detail oriented. He was also accommodating to a few changes made after the project was started. Stayed true to his quote and finished within the time line I was given at the start of the project. Will definitely call him again as we continue renovating."

"Steve was the best! If I could give him a triple A+ rating above, I would have! He had the difficult job of covering safety cone orange paint and was able to get it done with just two coats! Steve responded promptly to my initial inquiry, we were to able set a date that worked for both of us without any problems. He was very professional. He arrived on time, went straight to work, and was done before I got home. If it weren't for the change in color, I would never have known that anyone was in the room. If I ever have to have another room(s) painted, I most definitely will contact Steve!! We couldn't be happier with the results!

"Purchased an Angie's List deal for whole house painting.  They scheduled a time to come measure the house, showed up when they said they would.  There was a small math error in calculating the size of our house, but we worked that out easily.
The prep work (power washing and scraping) was done on the first rainy day in 2 or 3 months, so it took a little longer than we all expected for the actual painting to begin.  But the weather eventually cooperated, and the crew arrived to begin painting.  They did a good job of covering areas that were not to be painted, removed and replaced downspouts as needed, even painted the window screens, which came as a pleasant surprise.

FAQs for wallcovering or wallpaper removal projects in Exeter, NH

You can determine your wall type through tactile and visual tests. Start by checking the surface by inserting a thumbtack, feeling the texture, tapping to listen for a hollow sound, and examining cut edges under outlet covers. Drywall feels soft with a hollow sound, while plaster is hard and solid. These checks are especially useful in older homes where plaster is more common.

After removing wallpaper, you can dispose of small amounts in your household trash. However, if you are removing wallpaper from your entire home, you’ll need to contact a waste removal service, rent a dumpster, or arrange a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste service. Wallpaper cannot be recycled, so it is important to keep it separate from the recycling stream to comply with local waste guidelines.

It takes a professional from several hours up to a full day to remove wallpaper from a single room. The removal duration depends on the type of adhesive, the age of the wallpaper, the condition of the wall, and the number of layers present. High ceilings and additional layers increase the time required, as extra care is taken to protect the wall surface while ensuring a complete removal.

Using fabric softener with water is an option for removing wallpaper, but its effectiveness is limited and depends on the type of wallpaper being used. This low-cost method is most effective on modern, less porous wallpaper and may not yield optimal results on vintage or textured varieties. It might also affect wall surface preparation for new coverings if the residue is not completely removed. For stubborn adhesive or textured surfaces, professional solutions are recommended to ensure a thorough removal without damaging the underlying wall.
