Within seconds I had a copy of that receipt on my iPad. It's apparent their system of electronic invoices works, but it seems the prior installer let the receipt fall through the cracks. John has promised to get me a receipt for the original garage door installation. We will see how that goes."

We did that, paid a deposit, and started the wait. Well, about two weeks BEFORE the expected install date, Cesar texted and said the door was in and they could come and install it. We were available, so they came over and got to work. It took longer than I expected, but I'm not a garage door tech, so what do I know. They finished up, and it looks perfect. Now, about the crew, Cesar is a good dude. He's down to earth, friendly, and seems genuinely invested in customer relations. I didn't get the name of the guy helping out, but he was friendly as well, and didn't mind my dog sniffing around. After they finished, they cleaned up, demonstrated the new opener, and made sure we had the app operational. He answered our questions about the install and made sure we were absolutely comfortable with everything."

Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
