Also, he repaired a crack in a raised brink planter and re-laid a patio area that had been distorted by 25 years of frost heaves. All work was done professionally and thoroughly and the areas cleaned up perfectly on departure. An added benefit was that the crew were very pleasant to deal with; arrived promptly and were clearly very skilled."

"I had some wind damage to my roof and hired St. Joseph’s Roofing to replace it. I own a townhome with a roof that’s just under 800 square ft (8 squares) with an A-frame gable on the facade. I hired St. Joseph’s to install Certainteed Landmark shingles, synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield, pipe jacks, ridge vent, drip edge, replace two 26' rake boards, and install a ridge vent at the peak of my A-frame gable that didn’t have one already in order to increase the ventilation of my attic. Tim Kelly came out to look at my roof and was very thorough; he even climbed up through my scuttle hole to take a look at the decking and my roof from the inside. Mr. Kelly was very thorough and professional. Within a few days, I received an email detailing the project proposal and estimate with which I had a few questions. I called Mr. Kelly and went over the contract and he was very patient with all of my questions and very thorough with his answers. I agreed to the proposal, signed the contract, sent it in, and then I was contacted to schedule the project. I was told my project would happen the week of August 1st. I hadn’t heard anything by July 31st and reached out about my project and was told the earliest date would be August 2nd, weather dependent. The project began just after noon on the 4th and was “completed” that evening. I had asked 2 of the crew members to take photos for my insurance adjuster to determine if my existing roof had any synthetic underlayment or ice and water shield. No pictures seem to have been taken as none were provided. After taking a look at the roof a couple hours after the roofers left, I noticed there was no ridge vent on my A-frame gable. I called St. Joseph’s to ask about it and it seems as though it was an oversight. I was told a crew would come in a few days to take care of it. I was told the project was scheduled for the early afternoon of August 10th. I ran an errand around 10:15am and returned home at 11:50am, just in time to see the St. Joseph’s truck pulling away and leaving my home. I was not contacted when they arrived or when they finished. On the plus side I had a new ridge vent. In the contract, after the project is completed, a Sr. Project Manager will inspect the new roof to make sure it is up to the company’s standards. I reached out the second week of September since it had been over a month since my roof project was completed and I had not had an inspection nor received and invoice for payment. The Sr. Project Manager came on September 18th and performed the inspection and told me it looked good and to expect an invoice in my email. I received encouragement to leave feedback and review my experience and just received my invoice September 30th. Overall great experience with a few instances of communication breakdown, but I am thoroughly satisfied."

"Very happy with the results and the process was easy and smooth. George Jr showed up to do the consult, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were not the lowest quote we received but they were the best at communication and wanting to earn our business. As sales people, my wife and I appreciate professionals that still go out of their way to earn business. They were even able to get in and do the job before the Thanksgiving holiday which was only a few weeks from the consult and was very important to my wife, as we had 14 people coming to Thanksgiving dinner. She is also pregnant and they offered us products that would not be harmful to her or the baby, but she ended up being out of town the days they were here so we stuck to the normal paint, but really appreciated the effort to accommodate us.
   The workers showed up exactly when they said they would. They worked hard and were very fast. I was amazed they finished everything in 2 days considering the size of the area they were painting and the number of cabinets and trim we had. The workers were respectful when moving and covering our belongings before and after painting. They were always laughing and smiling during the job, which is good to see, it hopefully mean they enjoy what they're doing and the quality shows. George and his son would pop in from time to time to check in and make sure everything was going well and that we were happy with the progress.
   All in all, very happy! Would recommend to anyone! If fact, we need new granite.....you know how it goes, first new appliances, which means new paint, which means new counter tops and so forth, but George Jr mentioned they can help us with that and we will probably be giving them our business for that job as well. "We have used E&R for years to maintain and repair our cedar shake roof. Cleaning and then applying preservative regularly has added years to the life of the roof.They have always done an excellent job. Last year we were not totally happy with the evenness of the preservative/stain application and they reapplied the material to our great satisfaction.The cost may be a little more than some others in the area but with E&R you do indeed get what you pay for. Ed Maurath couldn't have been nicer to work with.

"I contracted with MP Home repair to perform a partial remodeling of my kitchen. I had an old built in island that housed a non-functional second oven I wanted removed. Additionally, I wanted to replace the old gas range and electric oven with an all gas range and oven, and replace the tile, overhead light, and backsplash. Mr. Pena gave me a competitive quote for the labor on the demolition, tile work, and oven installation. He directed me to a nearby tile store, and my wife and I picked out the tile and backsplash we wanted and had it delivered to the house. Mr. Pena got us a 20% discount on the tile, which made the material costs very competitive. We chose a ceramic tile for the floor and glass subway tiles for the backsplash. It was a more expensive product, but the quality and look of the glass is superlative. I found the gas range we wanted arranged to have it delivered. I coordinated with Mr Pena prior to his start date and had everything lined up. Mr Pena arrived on time on the first day, set up drop clothes, and set to work on the demolition. He and his team got everything broken down and out the first day with minimal dust outside of the work area. The next day went very smoothly with the tile and backsplash going in and the existing appliances reinstalled. On the third day, we hit a snag when the gas line out of the wall extended to far into the space where the new range would go. It would require moving the gas line along the interior wall and a cut behind the cut-off valve to be performed by a certified gas plumber. I highlight this as most contractors would have tossed this back in my court to solve. Instead, Mr Pena picked up his phone and made a couple of calls and had someone over later that day. The plumber he referred was professional, efficient, and very reasonable for the same day service. It kept the project on track and fell within my contingency budget. On the fourth day, I decided to up-size the project slightly and passed the installation of the kitchen light and painting over to Mr Pena's team. They did an excellent job, and I thought their paint job was better than the professional painters I had paint the kitchen three years ago. On the fifth and final day, everything was done except for the final installation of the stove. It turned out that I had a range on top of an oven and not a fully integrated unit. The space cut for the range was actually 1/4 inch too short on both sides. Again, Mr Pena made some calls and got a contractor experienced in countertops to come over the next day and look at cutting the countertop in place. They arrived promptly the next day and again for a reasonable price, considering the next day service, made the cuts. On Sunday, Mr. Pena came back to my house first thing in the morning to install the oven and complete some baseboard painting. I've had several positive experiences from the contractors I have used on Angie's list, but I would say MP Home Repair and Mr. Pena are exceptional and in a league of their own. Above all of the normal attributes you would want in a contractor, Mr Pena is effective in solving problems when they arise and doing it efficiently and at a reasonable price through his referral sources. I am definitely going to use him for future jobs, and he'll be my first choice when we look to remodel or downstairs bedroom and bathroom in late 2019."
