"Rigo’s team did an outstanding job repairing my two chimneys and a brick wall along my driveway, and they pressure washed the patio. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to respond to your masonry and repair work. Great job!"

"Alex and his company did an exceptional job on our brick and stone work. We hired them to fix some cracks and missing mortar and they ended up making our patio and basement staircase look brand new. They were efficient, polite and responsive. I highly recommend this company"

"Jorge and his employees were punctual, respectful and thorough. Jorge uses people he employs rather than subcontractors or day laborers, giving him more control over quality and punctuality. He is personable, making constructive suggestions without the hard sell of a salesman.

"My project went really well. I was tremendously impressed with owner Vitaliy's knowledge, friendliness, professionalism, responsiveness, and attitude. He made the whole process easy, and was very patient with my questions and whining. I gave the company a C for price because they seem to charge what everyone else charges (I had two or three other quotes). While I don't begrudge them that, I can't exactly say that their price was anything special. Vitaliy pointed out some chimney work that should be done on the house's two chimneys. While I agree with him, it comes back to price. His quote-- which I have no doubt is fair market price-- is just too much money right now, and, in my opinion, far too much money for the job."

"We have used E&R for years to maintain and repair our cedar shake roof. Cleaning and then applying preservative regularly has added years to the life of the roof. They have always done an excellent job. Last year we were not totally happy with the evenness of the preservative/stain application and they reapplied the material to our great satisfaction. The cost may be a little more than some others in the area but with E&R you do indeed get what you pay for. Ed Maurath couldn't have been nicer to work with.

"I have used MP home repair for several projects since moving into a condo in 2019. They have done tile work in the kitchen, bathroom work, reversed doors, and two ceiling repairs. Always polite, efficient and resonably priced. The most recent job was a ceiling repair where the dryer vent had collected condensation and leaked through."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Fairfax Station, VA

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
