"VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - My job involved the relocation and installation of a new Hot Water Heater. I had very specific and detailed requirements regarding the new location of the water heater relative to the vent pipe to the chimney along with the hot and cold water lines as well as the gas line. The Lamco team listened to my requirements and took their time to precisely lay out and measure all pipe sections (water, gas and vent), they used the materials that I wanted (copper, black pipe and stainless steel) and they exceeded my expectations - all for a fair price. When I look at this job, I see piping that is neat, square and plumb - I am more than satisfied with Lamco's work!"

"The line was in the rafters of a high ceiling of the cellar. It led to an outside gas line (for a gas grill hookup) that was capped off at the house. I wanted to replace the valve rather than cap it off. This was a two man job of a plumber, Rob and his assistant. Rob had to get into the window well and work above his head in a very cramped space. This was complicated by having a large porcelain washtub directly under neath it, blocking access. Rob was extremely careful when climbing to get to the valve. They put down a plastic sheet to protect my washer and the sink, and used their ladder to get over to the wall and window well. Rob cut out the valve and put in a new one that is easy to open and close. He had his assistant check the position of the outside outlet as he worked until he adjusted it so the outside outlet was not turned askew. Btw It was raining and his assistant noticed mud on his boots, and asked for a paper towel when we got in the house...he used it to wipe up his footprints from the mud from his shoes as he walked... Rob checked for leaks and found none. They took any of the debris with them, and left everywhere they were spotless. Also, their last job was running longer than anticipated, and they called to let me know even though at least 30 minutes before. It was only about 15 minutes. Well mannered and professional...Could not have been better!

"Cross county quickly identify the leaking joint while other plumber didn't, replaced the joint and reconnect all the pipes. They also found a faulted auto relief valve and replace it as well.  Left only after making sure that everything they fixed worked.

"Anthony sent his crew very promptly to investigate our gas leak. The crew was very knowledgeable and thorough. The flat rate pricing could have been better/ further broken down but overall happy with their services."

"Louâ s plumbing is the best! I know that plumbers are suspect most of the time. I donâ t know if it is totally deserved or not, but Iâ m a car salesman so I know what itâ s like to have people think youâ re going to take them. I called Lou on Sunday and my call was returned the same day even though it wasnâ t an emergency. The first day I could be home was Tuesday and the boys were at my house Tuesday morning as promised. My problem was one of the pipes going into my water heater was severely corroded, if it blew there would be quite a mess. When the heater was installed, it wasnâ t done properly. If it couldnâ t be corrected, it would mean a new water heater probably costing around $1400 before installation. Lou explained that it was going to be a challenge to replace the pipe but they would do their best. They had to leave to get some parts but were back in ten minutes. Ten minutes after that, the job was done and no new water heater was needed. What a relief! The price was terrific! Thereâ s another job I need done in the spring and you can bet Iâ ll be calling Louâ s Plumbing. Reliable, trustworthy, polite and affordable. What more can be said? Use Louâ s plumbing!"

"I had the pleasure of working with Scott Carolus from Arctic Air, and I can't recommend him enough. He was incredibly helpful and explained everything to a T, ensuring I understood the issue clearly. Scott saved us from what could've been a major disaster the previous plumber had intended to cut our gas pipe, which was clearly the wrong pipe. Scott came in, conducted a thorough inspection, found the actual leak, and fixed it quickly. Thanks to his prompt action, we were able to get our heat back on after being without it for four days this happened over Thanksgiving when everywhere was closed. Scott's professionalism was top notch; he was compassionate, worked cleanly, and got everything done precisely. It's rare to find someone so dedicated to doing the job right. I would absolutely recommend Arctic Air to anyone in need of plumbing or heating services. They got the job done correctly and swiftly I'll definitely be calling them again if anything comes up."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fanwood, NJ

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
