"I called to schedule an appointment and was told they were booked a week out. After describing the problem, I was told it sounded like something they could sneak in between other jobs, and to bring the car in the following business day, four days before a scheduled appointment. I brought the vehicle in that morning, they started on it right away and I was on my way within an hour. Pleasant surprise! <br />"

"Original estimate on 5/11/2009 was preliminary discussion while getting multiple bids for same project.  I personally dealt with Mr. Keefe and he explained some changes that needed to be made from the original estimate which were acceptable to me considering the highly unsafe condition the equipment was in.  Another bid for the same project from another company was 4 times the bid I received from Mr. Keefe.  The other company wanted to completely abandon the unit which is located on the second level of our building and install an entirely new unit outside (It's about the size of a traincar).  Mr Keefe was able to research with the original equipment company and other professionals to re-create a furnace and air conditioner for our indoor pool area that would fit in the original space, used some of the parts that were already there, and replaced the parts that needed to be removed. I received stellar service from this company on this project. It was our first year of this new business and to have to complete a project of this magnitude on a tight budget so our business could keep running smoothly was made possible by the research and time that Mr. Keefe put into this project.  I am now on our third season and haven't had any concerns about this project yet.  I recommend Keefe Heating and A/C all the time for heating and a/c projects.  I have had several other projects that he has completed for me over the last few years and he is always just a phone call away with answers to any of my questions."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fifty-lakes, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
