"Great experience. Communication was very quick, clear, and responsive. The work was done on time exactly as agreed upon and the end product looks and works great. Price came in under quote. We wanted to get our fireplace made functional and safe and Smalling provided an economical and minimally invasive way to do this. Another company we spoke with wanted to basically demolish the inside of our chimney and the flue, expand the opening, haul all the debris out through the house, re brick the fire box, and rebuild the top part of our chimney while installing a damper. We did not want to go this far as this method would have been too expensive, invasive, and dirty. Smalling offered another way to accomplish the same goal. They sprayed a ceramic liner into our flue to seal it and heat-proof it, re tuck-pointed our fire box, installed a top-mounted damper and control chain and replaced our rusty chimney cap. This only took one day versus the other method which would have taken three, and it cost half as much as the more invasive method. We are very happy with this more modern and creative approach to our flue/fireplace restoration and we have been enjoying fires in our house for the first time since we bought it."

"They were able to schedule a technician (Hunter) for same day. He checked out the gas fireplace and vent outside. He was able to clean the igniter and some other parts and made our fireplace turn on much quicker than it has in years past. He also mentioned that it should not shut off anymore due to his cleaning. Not a lot of time has passed since he left the house, but it seems like it's all good! We also opted to have the full service/cleaning which was $199 and he only charged $99 because we don't have a full chimney pipe. So that was pleasantly surprising."

"A time and date to provide a quote was agreed to. Christian brothers called before the appointment and showed up exactly on time. They inspected the chimney, examined the pictures taken by the home inspector, read the report, and provided a quote on the spot. It addressed the issues on the home inspection report and did not try to press for additional repairs not identified in the report. Other quotations that I received wanted to completely rebuild the chimney even though each company admitted the chimney was serviceable and operating properly. Once I agreed to the repairs, price, and completion time frame they exceeded expectations by providing a veteran discount even though I did not ask for one, gave me a picture of the complete job, and actually completed the job well ahead of the their repair time frame and within 3 hours of receiving the quote. They restored my faith in quality workmanship and customer satisfaction."
