"My tankless water heater was not installed properly by a friend who was helping me out. James and team came in and took care of making it safe! They also have repaired a leaking faucet. I love having someone come out on time and do the job right the first time. I?ll only use Authority Plumbing and Drain. Plus my network depends on me for referrals and I can refer James and his team with 100% confidence."

"While performing two small repair jobs, they discovered a much more serious problem, a pipe leaking into the basement, which had been going on unnoticed for a long time. They were able to return the following day and make the repair. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, the quality of their work, and their pleasant dispositions. The jobs were done quickly and the cleanup was thorough. I will absolutely call Mayo Plumbing again if I have a problem, small or large."

"The extreme cold caused our pipes to burst. We have an older home where the pipes are in a crawl space under the back porch. He came prepared for the task and even installed additional insulation for us! He offers good old-fashioned service and work ethics. The cost of repair was modest and the work outstanding. I'm keeping his business card and telling all my friends."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Florissant, MO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
